Chapter 12: Jackson

I was scared to fall in love again after being rejected by Elizabeth for a vampire. I worried that Lily, my new love interest, might also reject me. Moreover, I was anxious that if she found out that I'm a werewolf, she would not want to be with me. One day, Elizabeth called me and asked how I was doing. I told her I was okay and that I had a new partner. Then I asked her if I had done anything wrong for her to reject me. She replied that I had not done anything wrong, but she was not in love with me and only wanted to be friends.

"I like my new partner, and I don't want to repeat the same mistakes I made with you," I said to Elizabeth.

"Why are you asking me this?" she replied. "You didn't do anything wrong, Jackson. But to be honest, I only see you as a friend. Any girl would be lucky to have you," Elizabeth added.

"I'm feeling concerned. I haven't been on a date or been in love since you," I said.

"Who is she?" Elizabeth asked. "Her name is Lily Madison," I replied.

"Why was Eric in Mississippi? I saw him at the gas station," I inquired.

"He was on a business trip," Elizabeth responded.

"Does Eric have any connection to Lily Madison?" I asked.

"I'm not sure. He never mentions her. Why do you ask?" Elizabeth inquired. "Eric seemed familiar with Lily when I saw him at the gas station," I explained. "During our honeymoon, Eric was fixated on a girl. I asked if he knew her, and he denied it, saying she was a witch. I'll ask him about Lily Madison," Elizabeth said.

"Are you still living in King Charles' castle?" I inquired.

"No, we've relocated to New York because I couldn't tolerate Eric's family," Elizabeth responded.

"I hope you're taking precautions. You're aware that Loki is still attempting to harm Eric and his family," I cautioned.

"I'll be cautious," Elizabeth assured.

"Why not consider moving to California? Nicholas Romanov resides there and he can watch over you and Eric. He owns his own law firm," I suggested.

"I'll discuss it with Eric," Elizabeth said.

After my conversation with Jackson, I approached Eric and asked him if he knew Lily Madison. Eric replied that he didn't know her, but he did know that she was a witch. I then informed him that Peter (who now goes by the name Jackson Randell) had mentioned seeing Eric at a gas station, looking at Lily like he knew her. Eric became angry and asked me why I was talking to "that beast". He reminded me that vampires and werewolves were enemies.

"I won't stop talking to Jackson just because you consider werewolves as our enemies. They are not my enemies and you have no authority to dictate who I can associate with. You are not my boss," I replied angrily.

Eric became furious and stormed off in anger.
