I'm sat at the table, stirring my cereal when my brother, Jacob smacks me on the back causing me to yelp. "Jacob!" My mother screeches. He raises his hand in defence and snickers as he shoves an apple in his mouth. I roll my eyes and sigh. I would really like to go home now, please?

The argument got very heated last night and my mission is to disappear and never see these people again, they're horrible. "Maya, please-" my mother moaned, I put my hand up in-front of her before swallowing one last spoonful and walking towards the door. "Maya! Get back here, now!" Mum screamed. I ignored her and carried on until my hand was latched on the door knob.

Deafening footsteps stormed up from behind me. "Joanne! Stop!" A mans voice hollered causing me to turn around until I was face-to-face with Joanne who had her hand glued onto my arm. "Let go of me, mother." I demanded through my teeth.

I looked behind Joanne to spot a man stood next to my brother, looking like his twin, dad? I pushed myself off her and pulled out my phone as I slowly walked over back to the kitchen. I can do this. I swiped up and unlocked with Face ID and pressed on 'instagram'. Insta and Instagram...got to be the same thing.

I looked up and saw my dad with his arms wide open, I skipped the rest of the way and tangled myself with him, his hand reached my head and he kissed the side of my head. "Sorry I wasn't up earlier, May." he whispered. My face creased with a big smile. May. I pulled out of the hug and sat on the kitchen stool again, acting like nothing ever happened as my mother whispered stuff to my father as she held an icy stare at me.

I put my attention back on my phone as I saw my account 'Maya', I guess I really am Maya. I typed in followers 'Marcus' and I immediately smiled, his profile picture is him and his dog. Which just totally made my heart melt. I swiped down on his pictures and they are all me and him, my smile stiffened knowing I'm not her. Well, I am but, not who he thought I was. Yet he was still so nice to me.

I pressed message and quickly typed: "please come to my house" I sent it and not even a minute went by before he read it, he messaged me back a thumbs up before I turned my phone off. "She's been such a brat" Joanne mumbled, my face stiffened and my knuckles turned white from how hard I was gripping the table. "No, I haven't, you have been so rude to me ever since I came home last night" I argued, steam spilling out my ears.                                                                             "May" my father cooed as he went to reach my arm before I stepped back.                                               "No. Have you ever thought why I was out so late?" I laughed. My mother tensed up and she looked just as angry as I am.

"Well whatever happened was your own fault" she snapped back. I fell back a step as I gasped, "mum" Jacob said in a cold tone, staring at her. My father stared at me, worried. Probably imaging horrifying things that could've happened to me. My face feels red and my eyes feel swollen and before my mum can say anything, there's a knock on the door.

I burst into tears I run to the door and swing it open to see Marcus stood there, his hands in his pockets without Rex. I hear my father shouting and Jacob screaming but it's all muffled. Marcus instantly pulls his hands out of his pockets and hesitates before he yanks me out the house and guides his hands until he's cupping my face. He wipes a tear away with his thumb before he tenses up again.

"Who do I need to deal with?" He asks, looking behind me.                                                                               "W-what do y-you mean?" I speak through sobs, he looks down at me and gives me a small smile. "I mean, who made you cry. Nova?"he asks.  I hold his hands and grip them tight yet he doesn't complain. "My mum" I whimper. His head snaps straight back up before he carefully lets go of me, "I'll be a minute" he states before he tenses up again and storms towards Joanne.

I peak my head around the doorframe, "Why did you make your daughter cry, Joanne?" He asks, pushing Jacob off of my father. "You two broke up a long time ago, Marcus. Don't break her heart again, yeah?" My mum smirks triumphantly. Broke my heart? Broke up? He was my boyfriend.         "That's not what I asked, Joanne" He says, making my mum shiver. My dad approaches my ex and places a hand on his shoulder, "I think it's time you leave, Marcus" he says in a soft tone.

Marcus flinches, "Get your hands off me, Tyler" Marcus demands, my dad is smart and takes it as a warning and backs off. Yet my mother is stupid. "I'm not scared of you, Marcus. She's a brat and I don't care what you two did last night, you mean nothing to her" Joanne teases. I gulp, because she's clearly wrong. He's the only one I like in this world.

Marcus tightens his fist and before he jumps, I shout him. "Marcus!" I holler. I'm stood in the foyer, my face stained with tears. Jacob shoots me an apologetic look and my dad looks horrified. My ex faces back to me and it looks like he's about to cry too. He speed-walks towards me and I run up to him, my shoulders shaking and my bottom lip wobbling.

I jump onto him and latch my legs around his torso and my arms around his neck. "Shh, it's okay" he coos as he caresses the back of my head, I dig my head into the dip of his collarbone and the scent of his cologne is all I think about. "We're going now" he whispers.
