"Is it working?" Marcus asked as he stared at me intensely. I try again, curling my fists, fixating my eyes on myself in the mirror and standing super still. This is apparently the only way for me to go home. I let out a massive breath and I fall to the floor, he falls with me and pulls me close to him. "No, it's not" I pant.

My chest is rising so fast it's like I've just ran a mile. I dig my head into his chest as I try and control my breathing, he rubs his hand in my back. "It's okay, Nova. You'll do it" he smiles.             "I want to go again" I insist as my breathing gets slower. Marcus immediately pushes me back so I'm facing him. "No. Not now, Nova. Absolutely not." He demands. I frown, he's supposed to be supporting me in this.

"I'm doing it again" I snarl, pushing myself up to my jelly-like-legs. Marcus jumps up and holds my elbows to support me. "I'm fine" I say, praying he didn't notice the tremble in my voice.                              "Nova, I don't care if you're fine, Nova. You've attempted this 3 times and every single time you've collapsed" he says, his voice cold.

I shrug, "I just really want to go home, Marcus" I cry, Marcus gives me a slight smile and kisses both of my hands. "And you will, just have a break first. Please." He smiles. I roll my eyes but give in. I give a slight nod and he widens his smile. He grabs my hand and drags me to the foyer. Just before Marcus opens the door, Jacob shouts. "May!" My brother shouts. I turn around and smile at him. "You be careful" He says, directing it at Marcus. I nod. "I want you back by 9pm" Jacob demands, again, staring at Marcus.

"Yes, Jacob!" I groan as I shut the door behind me. As soon as the door shut, Marcus pulled out his phone. "What are you doing?" I ask as we walk down the path. Marcus drags me around the corner toward the cafe. "Setting a timer on my phone" he replies. I burst out laughing, Marcus snaps his head around to face me. "Are you- threatened, by him?" I ask.

He scowls at me, "Nova, your brother is terrifying" he admits. I start laughing again. Jacob. Terrifying? "Shut up" he smiles, nudging me with his elbow. He just made me laugh even more.

                --------------------------------------1 hour later-------------------------------------------

"Marcus" I mutter, leaning my head on his shoulder. The bright sky has slowly turned into a dark blue and only one star illuminating the sky. "Yes?" he mumbled. His warm breath hits my neck and the goosebumps disappear, I dig my head in deeper to his shoulder. "I'm tired" I whispered. Before the words even left my tongue, my legs were wrapped around Marcus' waist.

He carried on walking like nothing even happened. I leant forward and folded my torso over his shoulder. "Comfortable?" He asks, I nod. My feet literally feel like they're going to come off. I pull Marcus' phone out of his back pocket and it makes him flinch. "Marcus"I say hesitantly, knowing what's about to happen. "Yes, Nova?" He replies. I gulp and let out a big sigh, he tenses up.                  "It's 21:58" I whisper. He jumps into reality and starts sprinting. Laughing, I grip his phone tighter trying not to drop it.

We won't make it, "3...2...1...10:01!" I giggle as we reach the start of my road. Marcus slows into a walk and sighs."I'm dead, Nova" He groans, still carrying me. I slip his phone back into his pocket and punch his shoulder blade. "Don't be silly! Want to stay at mine?" I smile at the idea.

Marcus kisses my jawline, "Thanks for the offer, ocean. But I have to stay with Rex" Marcus replies as we reach my path. I blush at the nickname. He gently places me on the step of the door and kisses both of my hands. "Ocean?" I smirk. Marcus goes red and the tips of his ears flash pink. "We met at the beach" he replies. "It's stupid, I know" he murmurs. I push up on my tip toes and brush my fingers through her hair. "No, It's not. I like it" I smile.

He smirks and places his hand on my lower back and guides me to the front door. "Bye ocean" he waves. "Bye, Marcus" I smile. I creak the door open and an agitated Jacob is stood with his arms crossed. "Marcus. Get back here, now!" He screams. I chuck my head back and Marcus is already sprinting down the road.

I throw my hands to my massive grin and try not to laugh as Jacob chases after him.
