I groan as I hit the wooden floor. The taste of copper filling my mouth as I clench my fists before sitting myself up. "Marcus-" I coo, trying to calm him down. "Ocean, I don't want to hurt you. My love, you will stay with me won't you?" he asks, a smile plastered on his face. I rise to my knees and throw my hands out, pushing him back before running to my brother's room.
"Miles!" I cry out, collapsing on his door as Marcus catches up to me. His blonde hair bobbling on his head and falling in-front of his bright eyes. "Nova, come on let's-" But before he can finish his sentence the door swings open making me fall into Miles' room. He catches me in his arms and stands me up behind him. "Marcus, I think it'd be best if you leave" my sibling says. And if Marcus is smart he'd listen to him. He stands there for a while, smiling at me but I've had enough. I want to go home.
"Get out!" I screech, making him flinch. He hesitates for a minute but finally speeds off, slamming the front door. Once I hear the deafening sound I throw my head into my palms and start to sob. I thought he would genuinely help me. Miles turns around and awkwardly brings me into a hug. Once we separate his eyes widen as he wipes blood from my nose. "He did this to you?" He questions, his jaw clenching.
My glossy eyes meet his before I breakout into tears again. "I'll kill him" he growls before slinging on his jacket. "No! Miles, it's okay!" I promise. He hits me with a icy glare before storming out and slamming the door even louder than an angry Marcus.
I fall back and slump onto my brother's warm bed. This isn't going to end well.
