I give up. I'm never going to see Alex again. I've tried so hard, so many times to perfect the spell. Yet every time I get the same result, an injury. Marcus said he hates to see me upset so he's taking me to his mum's yard. "Are we nearly there" I groan, staring out the window and into an overgrown forest. "As a matter of fact- we are...here!" He cheers as he swings the car to the right, revealing a massive farmhouse, overlooking a river and millions of stables.

He parks the car and I rush out and freeze, taking everything in. It's magical. I thrash my head back, a massive smile on my face and Marcus is leant on the car bonnet, his hands in his pockets with a smirk on his face. "Is this where you bring all your chicks?" I ask before my smile grows even wider. He rolls his eyes and lets out a cute laugh.

I look back at the farmhouse before sprinting towards the horses. I jump up on the wooden fence and admire a friesian. "Hello, gorgeous" I say in a soft tone as the black beauty struts over towards me. I place my hand on the side of his face. "You have a way with horses" A voice appears. Panicked, I flinch and find where the voice came from.

A woman, she had long, blonde hair and a friendly smile. She's got deep, blue eyes like the ocean. Just like Marcus. I smile back at her, "What do you mean?" I ask, still caressing the stallion's face. "This horse isn't very safe. Dangerous, wild." she laughs as she attempts to stroke the horse before he rears and gallops off. I laugh as she rolls her eyes.

"Nova, right? Marcus has told me a lot about you. Though you remind me of someone-" Marcus' mum mumbles, trying to think. Please don't let it be Maya. "Maya! I think that's her name anyway, Marcus brought her down here all the time. I've never met her though, he says Bruce loves her though" she explains, pointing towards Bruce who has now stopped for some grass.

So, me and Maya must be alike for Bruce to like the same people. "Never heard of her" I smile as Marcus finally catches up with me and throws his jacket over my shoulders. "Mum" he says, his voice icy. The mother looks down at her feet, startled. "What's wrong?" I mumble to him. Marcus looks at me and gives me a small, fake smile. "I don't like my mum meeting the girls I am with" he sighs back to me.

I frown and look back to his mum. I reach out for her hand and place mine on top of hers. "Don't worry, she's been keeping me company. The woman's face brightens then fades as Marcus scowls at her. I glare at him, "Marcus" I groan. He walks forward and pushes his head next to me. "Apologise to your mother" I command. His mum immediately looks up and shakes her head. "No, honey. You don't have to" she smiles.

I look back at Marcus. "Don't disappoint me" I growl at him. He flinches and stands up straight, he clears his throat before talking, "I'm sorry, mother". The woman's smile reaches her eyes and she nods and skips to the house. "Thank you" I nod at him. He groans and elbows me in my stomach.

I duck under the the fence and jog to Bruce who has laid down. I fall to my knees and plait his mane then it hits me. Maya's scream takes over as it thrashes back into me, causing me to fall into the soft, muddy grass. "NOVA!" Marcus screeches as he sprints over to me. I peel my eyes open as he sits me up. "Are you hurt? What happened? Was it Bruce? Are you okay-" he quickens his voice before I shut him up with my lips.

My lips softly grazes across his as I leave him speechless as I stand up and brush over my clothes.  Marcus stands up and grabs my waist, pulling me into him as our foreheads connect, leaving us inches away from another kiss. His eyes move to my lifts and my eyes move to his. He slowly grabs the side of my face and lifts me up so our lips collide again.

A slow and meaningful kiss. I pull away and close my eyes so I don't see his face. "Marcus, I'm sorry. I can't, what about Alex?" I ask. I finally open my eyes to see Marcus disgusted, his eyebrows furrowed. "No, Nova. Forget about him, forget about Maya, forget about everything. You won't be with me forever so please, let the time you have on earth be about us" he cries.

He's true. I'll never see him again. I stare into his pleading eyes and smile before throwing myself onto him.
