and the house is falling apart.
there is no hurricane
no earthquake
no end-of-the-world scenario.
it is simply crumbling under the weight of the people in this house.
the oldest brother makes it out first.
he's quick, tall and aware
and he always knows what to do when something falls apart.
down running comes the youngest
she moves faster than the brother
but she is the youngest so she left second.
it took her a moment to walk out the door.
the middle brother jumps through the window.
it may not have been the wisest choice
but somehow, someway,
it always works out for the middle brother.
they are halfway down the street when they realize their mother is still inside.
but not their father.
