Captain Toad: How many died?

Count Bleck: Almost everyone in total. All that's left is us, Captain.

Captain Toad looked down, seeing all of the dead bodies around them. He began to tear up, feeling guilty of what happened.

Captain Toad: (quietly) I'm so sorry.....

The scouting team arrives as well.

Mario: Mama Mia....

Luigi: What-What did this.

Crump: (quietly) They're dead...

Yoshi: Crump?

Luigi: What'd you say?

Crump: (loudly) They're all dead. Everyone except us. My X-Nauts.....slaughtered like chicken...everyone else....tried to fight it.

Bowser: Fight what? Anguirus?

Crump can only nod as he walks back into the tent, sadly.

Mario sees Captain Toad and Count Bleck talking. He runs over to them, as E. Gadd sees the dead body of the deer.

E. Gadd: What's this? (Examines it) It looks like a deer...but it looks different.

Mario: Cap, are you okay? What about you, Blumiere?

Bleck: Not exactly, Mario. Only me, the Captain, and Crump survived. 

Mario: Crump told me. (To Captain Toad) I'm sorry, Toad....

Captain Toad: It's fine.....I just.....need some time to think...

The Captain walks into the tent, depressed and feeling hopeless.

Meanwhile, E. Gadd uses a laser to cut off a piece of the deer's horn.

Bowser: What are you looking at, Doc?

E. Gadd: Wel-What'd you call me?

Bowser: Doc.

E. Gadd: I wouldn't exactly call myself a doctor, but okay. Just for now, call me Professor. But anyway, I'm looking at this.

Bowser: Looks like a green deer.

E. Gadd: It doesn't correspond to the deer species record. Maybe a sudden variant?

Yoshi: I suppose. But would something like this go through such a change, even if it's been this long?
