The New Leader

On the Aratrum, Haruka and the committee hear the big news.

Haruka: So Captain Toad was killed in action?

Bleck: No doubt about it.

Bowser: Saw it with our own eyes. So, who's gonna be in charge now?

Haruka: Definitely not you, Bowser. According to rank, Count, your in charge now. Understand?

Bleck: I do. But, there's one thing.

Haruka: You can't handle it, can you?

Bleck: I can. But I don't think I'm the right man for this. So just to let you know, I'm gonna be reassigning some certain insubordinates. Namely Bowser.

Haruka: What?!

Bowser: Hold up, what?!

Haruka: B-But why?

Bleck: Because he knows how to fight Godzilla. But he won't be in charge.

Bowser: Oh. (Sighs) Fine.

Haruka: (sighs) Fine. But I'm only allowing it because there's no other option.

Bleck: Very well. I'll explain the rest once the new commander is assigned.

Bleck cuts off communication.

Bowser: Why assign me as one of the commanders?

Bleck: As I said, Bowser. You know Godzilla from the back of your head, and we'll need someone like you.

Bowser: (sighs) I guess you're right.

Bowser leaves, and he goes towards Mario. His head was down, looking at the ground beneath him.

Mario: I'm sorry, Toad....

Bowser: Mario!

Mario brings up his head, and turns to Bowser.

Mario: Yeah?

Bowser: Finished analyzing.

The two go to the tent to discuss it.

Bowser: So I recorded the electromagnetic meta material's output. Just as your dad said, the shield exists.

Yoshi: Guess he wasn't crazy after all.

Mario: I knew it.
