Chapter 4 : Friday Morning

(Charles' POV)

As I woke up, I went instantly on my mobile to text her good morning. I felt a spark when I was around her, even tho I just met her yesterday. Carlos woke up instantly when he heard me and stood up. He gave me that nasty look while smiling, it was funny really.

"What are you doing?" He asked me.
"Texting Monique good morning, I don't know Carlos. I feel something." I said confused.
"You're in love Charles. She's totally into you so why not try to get closer?" He says giving advice.
"I'm trying to and I think she noticed..." *gets a message* "She woke up."
"I'm going to go get dressed, vuelvo enseguida (I'll be back)" Carlos says going inside the bathroom with his clothes.

I got to my wardrobe and found the clothes I'll need for today. We will have practice sessions today, 2 of one hour each. The last practice would be on Saturday Morning, before the qualifying. After that we would probably have a conference. I got out my practice suit and waited for Smooth Operator Man to get ready. I loved to tease him whilst he loves to tease me back. He comes out of the bathroom wearing his suit and his arranged hair and tells me that I can go in. He sat on the couch as he asks me about making a group chat with us two and the girls. I instantly agreed and went inside the bathroom while him doing the group chat on instagram.

I get dressed and pull the zip of the suit and wrapped the neck piece with the collar. I start to brush my hair and arrange it as I usually do before I end up ruining it with the helmet. I really needed to win this time, I've never actually won in my home town. It was some sort of curse, people called it the Monaco Curse that no one from Monaco can win in their home town. I needed this win. I wanted to dedicate it for jules. For my dad. I had to do this for them, and maybe for Monique.. she told me already that she wanted me to win atleast P2 or P3, but I wanted more. I got out and checked my mobile. I found all them texting about how long I take. I laughed and went to hit Carlos on the back. "How dare you lie to them! I don't take that long" i said laughing. He started to speak weird Spanish stuff which I didn't even understand anything so I just sat near him and read the conversation.

Carlos : heyy girlsss
Monique : Good morning Carlos! What's up?
Leah and Faith : HEYYYYYYYYY GUYSSSS
Carlos : nothing much, waiting for Charles to get ready after already 20 minutes waiting!
Monique : Okay that's a lot for sure, I don't even take that long!
Leah : @charlesleclerc COME ON
Faith : nah let the man be, he's probs arranging his hair for Moniqueeee
Monique : Shut it, I'm gonna hit u so hard rn.
Leah sent a video.
Carlos : damn girls chilllll hahahaha

      It's time for me to reply I guess. I watched the video, Monique was running around the whole room with an umbrella trying to hit Faith. It was funny, I couldn't stop looking at Monique. Her hair was a bit messed up which made it look a bit well... Leah then cut the video once Monique caught Faith. Probably to go help her friend stay alive, I giggled after and Carlos looked at me and laughed. I started to text in the group chat.

Charles : heyy guyss what's up, I didn't take long for your information mr smooth operator
Carlos : smooth operataaaaaaaaa
Monique : hey charlesss hruuu
Faith and Leah : AWHHHHHHH.
Charles and Monique : shut upppppp
Charles : im good thanks wbu?
Monique : I'm alr! When's the practice sessions?
Carlos : I think first on at 9 am and 2nd one at 11am.
Monique : Thanks boys, I'm going to go get ready!
Leah : I'll wait as usual.
Faith : I'm going to go see the track and take pics see u boys later
Carlos : bye girls see u at the cabin!
Charles : byeeee I'm going to go check the weather.

        I get up from the couch and went to turn on the tv so I can check the weather. Carlos went to get his hat and started to sing for no reason. I joined him as I find the weather channel. It was in French as usual. I checked and saw that it will be perfect weather. "How about we go for breakfast?" Carlos asks me. I agreed and we went. I called the girls to tell them to meet us there instead of the cabin. We got down and waited for them as we got our food ordered. As I was eating. I saw them coming. My eyes lit up as I saw Monique in a red dress with her Ferrari hat as usual with her hair down, with her red, white and black Nikes. She looked good. Her friends were okay, I guess but her. She was special in my opinion, Carlos noticed me looking deeply into Monique's eyes. Carlos was sitting near me so he ended up nudging me in the arm and smiling, to show me that he knew. Carlos looked at Leah the same way, they liked each other for sure. She  sat in front of me and opened the menu. The other two also took out the menu and ordered.

       We started talking about the qualifying and telling them about how the practice sessions will be held. Usually I take advantage of it because it helps me memorize the whole track, work the car up, do some donuts too so I make the tires more comfortable to drive with and more smooth, also so I can be more careful of curves. Monique loved to listen to me talking about this. Whilst Leah was flirting with Carlos and Faith on her phone, we saw Lando coming. Carlos got up and hugged him and Faith just screamed.

"Hey beautiful" Lando says smirking at faith.
"H..h..hi!" She says shaking.
"I need your number asap. What's your name?" He asks instantly
"You're not that shy as I thought. I'm Faith and here is my number" she says as she gives him her phone.
"How in the world." Monique says laughing
"It's that easy to find a girlfriend?" Carlos asks to Lando "I could never."
"Well I'm going to go find Oscar, I'll see you all at the practice, hoping to see you beautiful" he says as he walked away as if nothing happened.

Faith was so stiff and shocked. She probably fell in love with Lando, Carlos and Leah won't shut up about it and me and Monique decided to go outside together to see the view. It was amazing. We took some pictures and I took the chance to hug her. She was shocked, but went with it and kept on hugging me back. I felt her hands wrap around my neck as i lowered my hands to her hips. She felt cozy and it was like home. Then we felt wind coming at us so we went inside. We couldn't stop smiling after that. Carlos and Leah were still smiling at each other and laughing at jokes. Faith was texting Lando from the looks of it. We added Lando to the group chat right away. It was getting late and practice was in about an hour's time. We all got up and went to the cabin. Carlos and Leah were holding hands and me and Monique were flirting and hitting each other in a funny way. The girls sat on the couch and wore the head set so they could hear us talking on the radio.

As I got in the car, Monique winked at me, she used my move. Damn it. I got buckled up and checked if Monique and the engineers can hear me. Leah was with Carlos' radio whilst Faith was outside watching Lando going around the circuit already. I got onto the track and did some donuts to start off. I started to get the tires all ready for second practice. Then after some small donuts, I left and started going round the track.

   After around an hour, we got back to the cabin and as I got out, Monique came near laughing. I asked her why as a normal person would, and she just couldn't stop. I got out and removed the helmet and grabbed her by the hand.

"Tell me what's wrong before I make you." I said instantly.
"Well.. I couldn't stop laughing while hearing you sing in the car." She said smiling.
"Mhm. Let's go sit down and wait for the others." I said as we walked and sat on the couch next to each other.

       After some minutes, everyone came and we took our break before we went back to the second practice. We started taking pictures for no reason and then we watched some tv. Fast forward after that, second practice was over and we went back to the hotel room to relax.
