The Sapphire Dragon

Part 19

I wake up to find Ezra has undone my braid and is running his fingers through my hair again. I shift a bit and say "What are you doing?"

He replies "Morning, and I'm just running my hands through your hair. It's so soft and long, I like running my fingers through it."

I say with a chuckle "Alright, but I need to get a bath. Then I can find us breakfast."

I then get up and go to a slit in one wall and looking back at Ezra say "I'll just be in here, call out if you need anything." I point to the wardrobe that I have set in another wall. I say "If you want a change of clothes you can see if mine fit."

He nods and I go inside the crack. I stand there and wait for my eyes to adjust to the dim light coming in from a hole that goes up and out of the mountain. I look at the pool of water that comes from a hot spring deep inside the mountain.

After I'm done with my bath I come out and go over to where the wardrobe is. I pull out a fresh set of clothes and turn back to go back to the bathroom to put them on. As I do I see Ezra standing there and ask "Do you need something?"

He shakes his head and says "I was wondering if after you change I could do your hair?"

I smile and nod my head. After I change I go over to Ezra and say "What are you planning on doing with my hair?"

He shrugs and says "I don't know yet, I'll figure it out as I do it."

I laugh and say "Ok, where are we doing this?"

He goes over to where we slept the night before and sits down. He says as I walk over "Do you have a hairbrush?"

I hold it up and say "Yeah, and I also have a few leather strips you can use if you want." He smiles and pats in front of him. I sit down and he takes the hairbrush from my hand. He starts to brush out my wet hair and I hear him humming.

After a bit I ask "Why are you hiding your ears and tail again?"

 Ezra pauses and after a second replies "Because I guess I'm so used to hiding them I didn't even realize I was hiding them."

I say "Can I see them? I didn't get to see them too well last night. I was too tired and fell asleep almost instantly."

He says "O-ok, just don't laugh at me ok?"

I replied a bit confused "Why would I laugh at you? I bet you look beautiful with them. I would never laugh at you."

I hear him pause and then he says quietly "There, you can look if you want."

I turn to look at him and my jaw almost drops open. He is blushing and looking away. He looks so cute! 

I say "Why are you embarrassed? You look so cute!" 

He looks at me in surprise but smiles and says "Thanks. Y-you know you're the first person I've ever really let see me like this."

I'm a bit surprised but I hug him and say "I'm glad you trust me Ezra." He just hugs me back.
