Taylor walked through the dark, quiet house drunkenly tripping over her own feet and giggling at her own silliness. She expected you to be in the bedroom so she made her way up the stairs quietly shooshing herself as she kept giggling. You stood at the bottom on the stairs watching her unamused. Any other day you might have found this quite adorable.

She opened the bedroom door expecting to find you sitting in the bed with a book or on your phone or something, however she found the bed empty.

"Y/N?" she asked softly "Are you playing hide and seek with me?" she asked followed by a giggle again. "You know this actually isn't fun, I'm just looking for some cuddles!" she said grinning softly to herself followed by a pout as she realised she had no idea where you were, though she had literally walked past you to get upstairs.

You quietly made you way up the stairs, shaking your head at her nonsense. Even upset at her you didn't want to risk her falling down the stairs.

"Ah, there you are!" she grinned practically jumping into your arms. "I found you," she murmured with her face buried in your hair.

"Taylor, where have you been?" you asked while softly pulling away from her.

"Err, I've just been out with some friends," she responded hesitantly.

"And, you didn't tell me about it this time because...?"

"Because it was a spontaneous thing, and I thought it'd be fun," Taylor slurred, her words slightly muddled from the drinks

"This isn't fair Taylor! You can't keep staying out till past midnight every night without telling me where you are!" you yelled, your anger finally dawned upon you. "Apart from anything, I was worried sick about you, but I'm just mad, this has happened more times than I can count," you expressed, frustrated lacing your voice.

"I'm-"

"Do you even know what today is?" you asked her. She stayed silent for a second as if searching her brain for the importance of today. But she shook her head in response, the fight somewhat sobering her and tears beginning to appear in the corners of her eyes as she realised she messed up. You took a deep breath, struggling to keep your emotions in check. "It's our anniversary, Taylor. Our special day, and you don't even remember," you said, disappointment and hurt evident in your voice.

"Fuck," she muttered under her breath. "Y/N, I don't know how I forgot," she said quietly, reaching for your hands, but her heart broke in to a million pieces as you pulled your hands away from her.

"Maybe because I'm not your priority anymore," you whispered, she tried to respond but you just shook your head. "I don't want to hear it tonight," you explained, turning towards the door.

"Where are you going?" she asked, her voice cracking.

"I'm going out," you responded
while making your way down the stairs, her following closely in your shadow. You heard her sigh, knowing that she couldn't fight this, but once the front door was slammed in her face she fell into a fit of sobs.

You went for a short walk around the block, but your heart was pulling you back towards the house. As you walked, Taylor paced the living room, pulling at her hair, picking at the skin around her nails and sobbing her heart out. You were the one thing she loved most in this world and she stressed over if she would ever see you again, or even get those cuddles she was wanting ever again. But mostly she was figuring out how she could make this up to you.
