for those holiday anxieties...
sometimes it's hard to get out of bed around the holidays, and just remember that's okay. there's always a new day tomorrow.
this one is also a bit shortToday was not a great day for Taylor. She found herself only wanting to be in your arms and not wanting to leave the bed for any reason. Her body was trembling in your arms as she held onto you so tightly.
You gently brushed your fingers through her hair occasionally scratching at her scalp softly hoping it would settle her nerves a bit.
Occasionally you could feel tears trickle down your neck and she'd let out a sob every now and then coaxing you to hold her tighter and even closer.
When she had settled a bit she adjusted her body and looked up to you revealing her teary eyes and rosy cheeks.
"How are you doing, baby?" you asked softly, while moving a stray hair from her face.
"I don't know why this is happening," she whispered. "I'm sorry, Y/N"
"Don't apologise for something like this my sweet love, you cannot control this. I'll always be here for you to love and support you no matter what happens. I love you so much baby." you explained moving so she was laying next to you however still clinging to you so you could place a kiss on her forehead.
"I love you too, thank you for saying that." she replied making you smile at her sweet innocence at this time.
The rest of the day was spent with your full attention in her, however you did switch between music, tv shows and movies hoping to provide a distraction for your girl and throughout the day you did notice that her body language had changed as she now sat up in the bed a bit further.
As the day went on neither of you left the bed, she wasn't feeling hungry because of how nauseous the anxiety was making her and you couldn't leave her alone in bed without feeling bad for it. So you waited until the night to make dinner.
"What do you think about dinner, sweetheart?" you asked quietly, she nodded her head in response. "Is there anything in particular you'd like?" you asked.
"Something light please, I don't feel too well still." she murmured
"Would you like just some toast?" she nodded so you went downstairs and made her some toast with jam.
When you returned she was laying right where you left her in the middle of the bed. You hated when she was feeling down and it was out of your control, you wished you could take away all the pain she felt.
You placed the tray on the side table and sat with Taylor again. Softly stroking her hair you got her attention and she looked up at you. You gently wiped the fresh tears from her face and kissed her lips lovingly.
"I have some toast, for when you're ready to sit up," Taylor managed a small, appreciative smile as you spoke, the warmth of your presence slowly easing the tension in her body. She sat up with your help, leaning against the headboard as you arranged the tray of toast for her.
"Thank you," She whispered softly her voice still carrying the weight of the day. You nodded, giving her a reassuring smile, and handed her a plate. She took a deep breath, attempting to steady herself, and began to eat the toast slowly.
Throughout dinner, you maintained a quiet and supportive atmosphere, occasionally exchanging a few words but mostly allowing her the space she needed. The simple act of sharing a meal, even if it was just toast, felt like a small step toward getting your girl back.
After finishing the meal, you cleared the tray away and returned to the bed. Taylor curled up against you, finding solace in your embrace. The room was dimly lit, creating a calm ambiance. You whispered sweet words of comfort, assuring her that tomorrow would be a new day.
You noticed a shift in Taylor's demeanour as the night progressed. The improvements that had initially brought a sense of relief were slipping away, replaced by a resurgence of distress. Her body tensed again, and you could feel her trembling in your arms once more.
"Do you need anything baby?" you asked her.
"I thought I was getting better, but it's coming back," Taylor admitted, her eyes reflecting a mixture of frustration and sadness.
"I can understand how frustrating that is, is there anything I can do for you?" you asked, concern deepening in your eyes.
"Just hold me, please." she pleaded "You being here is everything to me"
You held her a little tighter, acknowledging her plea. "Of course, my love. I'm right here with you," you reassured her, your arms providing a comforting cocoon. "You are so loved darling, whatever is bothering you we'll face it together. You don't have to carry this weight alone,"
For the rest of the night you held her close, eventually she slowly fell asleep, her body relaxed against yours as you continued to defend all the sorrow from her as she slept, just simply by holding her.
