"Auntie Bonnie." was the first thing she heard as she stepped out of the car. She looked to her home to see Hiwa running towards her, so she stooped to catch her and picked her up in her arms.
"I missed you so much," Hiwa said with excitement, all her pearls showing. She looked beyond them to see Amaka walking towards her. Bonnie gave Hiwa a kiss on the cheek.
"I missed you too." Bonnie told her that Amaka came to them and gave them a side hug.
Hiwa looked behind her.
"Is that Aunt Lucy?" she said, wiggling out her hands. She nodded at the little witch and turned to Amaka as Hiwa went towards Lucy. She put her hands around the teen.
"How are you? Is the house still standing?" She asked her, and Amaka shrugged. She smiled at Amaka and put her arms around her.
"You don't have anything to say?" Bonnie asked. She was used to her reserved nature, but she expected a hi? Hello ? Did you bring me back something?
"Do you know about Aunt Kamali?" She asked her, Bonnie faced screwed up, and then she remembered the girl that fell through the door.
"Did she appear at the basement door?" She asked, and Amaka nodded and gave Bonnie a deeper hug by laying her head on her shoulder. She returned the hug, figuring this was her way of saying she missed her.
"I don't worry, but I'll get to the bottom of it." She said to ease whatever was bothering her. Amaka pulled away to say something, but Lucy came up to them. Elijah passed them with their bags.
"This must be the artist of the family.'' Lucy said. Amaka shook her head, wiped her face, and sniffled.
"I don't draw; I just take pictures," she answered. Bonnie heard the tears in her voice. Bonnie pulled away to look at her face; it was filled with despair.
"Come on, even Niklaus said only an artist could capture what you do; he bought that camera you liked." She praised her. Amaka just shook her to indicate it wasn't that.
"Oh, baby, I didn't mean to make you cry.'' Lucy said, soothing her shoulders. Amaka shook her head, but the tears came down still.
"What is it?" Lucy asked, "Did something happen?" wanting to solve the little witch problem.
"No, its just that since I met Bonnie, I just keep meeting more family, and it feels so." She couldn't find the word. Lucy nodded because she felt the same way now that she was around family.
"I know I feel the same way." Lucy said, "Bennetts are meant to be together." Lucy said, holding back her tears too. Hiwa held her sister's hand, and Lucy pulled Amaka in for a hug.
"Is something wrong? Do we have to leave to make space for Aunt Lucy and her bags?" Hiwa asked, and Amaka laughed. They watch Elijah come out and go back in with bags twice.
"No, its not just me and you alone anymore, and I'm happy." She told her sister, and she pulled away from the group.
"But Aunt Kamali won't wake up." Hiwa said, looking at Bonnie. She frowned. She looked at Lucy, who was confused. 'The girl' she mouthed,
"What do you mean?" Bonnie asked concerned
"No, let us relax, and then we will see what's going on with Kamali." Lucy said, and she exchanged a look with Bonnie. She understood what Lucy was saying, but if it was urgent.
"If Aunt Freya can't figure it out, you probably will right away." Amaka said. She nodded and walked towards the house, but Bonnie was just exhausted because the spirits were extra. She felt like a computer with too many downloads; she knew why they wanted her to get some more witches now, plus her visions had stolen her sleep. She woke up Lucy so many times; she just spent time reading or catching up on the work she was missing from her classes.
