A young woman sighs quietly as she watches the clock attached to the wall across the auditorium.

She fiddles with her pencil as the platform of her shoe taps against the tile, antsy as the session comes to an end. Tuning the professor's lecture out, she grabs her phone, flipping it over to face the screen.

Of course, no notifications besides her forgotten reminders. She rolls her eyes. If only checking her phone hadn't become a habit, she wouldn't feel that same feeling of disappointment when eyeing the empty screen. Setting her phone down, she "patiently" waits until the arms of the clock finally switch to 1:10.

"Alright everybody. Don't forget about your discussion board tonight. It'll help with the exam that's coming on Friday. Have a good day!"

Before the professor finished speaking, Y/n had already begun to pack her notebooks into her bag. Finished, she put in her earbuds, rushing towards the exit. Mistakenly, she shoves her body into an unfamiliar surface, yelping in the process.

She acknowledges the person with a quick, "Sorry," continuing her run to the door. Making it to the building that holds the food court, she strolls behind the structure, walking to the parking lot. When she reaches her car door, she grabs the handle, pulling it open. She threw her bag into the passenger's seat before sitting on her own. She shoves her key into the ignition, twisting it which results a loud rumble as the vehicle vibrates. She pulls her earbuds out, shoving them into her bag.

She leans her spine against her seat, shifting her gaze to the cup holder that holds her half smoked blunt. She reaches for the object, putting the end of it up to her lips, holding it in place. Only when she forces her hand in her bag does she realize she's missing her lighter.

She groans, slamming the car door open as she steps out of the car. After double - checking her bag, she searches her floorboard, compartment, and moves to the back seat, opening the door to gain a better view. She frustratingly curses, multiple complaints spilling from her mouth as she struggles.

Sighing in defeat, she leans her crossed arms against the top of the car, lying her head on her limbs as she closes her eyelids. "Damnit." She whispers. Her eyes open as she feels a tap on her shoulder. Pushing herself up, she turns to face the culprit.

"Looking for this?"

Her eyes meet silver irises as she recognizes the male as the person she ran into, earlier. His porcelain skin glistens as the spring's sun glimmers against his dermis. His toned figure standing in front of her with his hand holding her distinct lighter.

"When you bumped into me, I found this on the floor," he responds with a soft voice. She nods in understanding and grabs her lighter.

"Thanks."

Both parties stand in silence for a few seconds before he turns to the car next to hers. He opens his passenger's door to pull out a mini black bag, turning back in her direction.

"Wanna smoke?"

The girl had her head leaning back against her seat, disappearing into the music playing as the smoke polluted the car's air. She concentrates on the different beats and riffs that she would have missed if she wasn't  intoxicated.

The boy, Carter, sat next to her and mimics her position with his eyes closed. He used his orange pipe a few times before reaching this relaxed state. The parking lot, full of cars, but no sight of anyone walking around. Smoking on campus is prohibited, yet a variety of students choose to consume daily, regardless of the rules.

Neither person conversed beside the occasional, "Do you want a hit?" A comfortable silence fell upon the duo, both peacefully coexisting in her vehicle.

Carter takes the time to steal a side glance at this newcomer, curious of the personality one holds. For no particular reason he felt an unexplainable warmth when she bumped into him. Enough to follow after her when she darted away.

"How come I've never seen you around?"

She turned her head, making eye contact as she reaches for the radio, switching the volume down. She sets her hand on her lap, rubbing the surface of her pants with anxiety.

"I moved from my town to here in the fall." She responded, the answer short and sweet.

He noticed that she gave little details, nodding in acknowledgment, refreshed with meeting a new face. Checking the time, he realizes they have been sitting in the car for over an hour, nearing the end of his break. Without bothering to spray himself, Carter opens the car door, setting one foot outside before turning back to her.

"Let's exchange socials."
