As she opens the door, she walks out of the bathroom, making her way back to the living room. Before she can walk away, a loud thud sounds from behind. She halts her movement and turns her head toward the noise, her eyebrows furrowed.

Silence is met as she stands, causing her to continue her walk. She stops again, another thud coming from behind. When she turns around, she's met with the downwards staircase, the sound of another thud, only this time causing her to jump from how loud it is.

She slowly stalks to the staircase, anxiety rising as her adrenaline began to pump. Another thud causing her heart beat to accelerate. Her hands begin to shake as she felt a hold on her breath.

What are they doing in there?

At this point, she'd rather hear the sounds of sex, unlike the eerie noise repeatedly surfacing. She stops at the top of the staircase, staring at the steel door. A thud turns into loud banging as she stares with wide eyes.

            "What the fuck?" She whispers.

Against her better judgement, she walks down the stairs, knowing her actions could lead to a negative experience, her curiosity gaining the upper hand within the argument with herself. Alarms ring in her head as the hairs on her arms stand.

The banging finally stops, a sudden silence taking over the dark hallway. She stares at the door for a moment, relishing in the spiraling of her thoughts. She gasps as she felt a cold touch on her arm, abruptly turning around to face the culprit.

"What do you think you're doing?" Amie grits.

Y/n could only stare back at her green eyes. Fear and confusion being the only emotions she could decipher in the moment.

"What the hell is going on in there?" She questions. Amie rolls her eyes, walking past Y/n, shoving the door open. She walks in, Y/n following behind. She gazes around the room, searching for anything out of place, to no avail.

"Feel better, nosy?" Amie questions, grabbing a glass from the bar as she pours a bottle of wine.

"What was that noise?"

Amie sets the bottle down as she takes a sip from the cup, leaning her hip against the counter as she eyes the confused girl.

"What noise?" She questions.

Y/n eyebrows furrow once more, nose crinkling as she stares back at Amie, confused as to how she didn't hear the banging.

"Where's everyone else?"

"God, what is this an interrogation? Can you chill the fuck out? Maybe that weed is going to your head, Y/n." She scowls, walking to the door. Y/n stares at the room in disbelief. Amie huffs and walks toward her, gripping her arm as she forces her to follow her out of the room.

Y/n snatches her arm away as she glares at the girl who closes the door behind them. Amie ignores her and heads up the stairs. The girl hesitates before following her. When they walk into the living room, Carter is seated as before, except with a bottle of whiskey in hand, drinking from the container as he gazes at his phone.

Both girls stood across from the sofa, near the loveseat on the side. Amie takes another sip as Y/n grabs her bag from the sofa.

"You should keep a better eye on your guest, Carter." She states, walking back to the hall.

He looks at Y/n, and shakes his head. "I probably should've told you where the bathroom is."

She sighs, "It's fine. I found it anyway. Hey, what's with the banging in that room you showed me at the party?" His expression shifts to a hard glance before returning back to the unreadable, stoic frame he usually holds.

"I don't know what you mean." He responds taking another sip. "Also, I'm not going to be able to drive you home until tomorrow." She grimaces.

"Damn, are you sure? I'm kind of creeped out and ready to go." She responds, her grip tightening around the strap of her bag.

"It's cool, I'm going to show you the guest bedroom when we're about to go to bed." He ignores her concerns.

"Okay." She says, knowing she couldn't force him to drive. She contemplates downloading the ride app, but decides against it because of expenses.
