Pulling up to the driveway, the anxiety never fleeing, the girl feels a drop in her stomach, pressure pushing against her abdomen as she fiddles with the hem of her shirt. Eyeing the mansion, the intimidating environment more prominent without the sloppy young adults that roamed in the past, opposite of the elegance that the manor displays.

I wonder if they hang out here everyday.

Hopping out of the car, bag strapped, Carter locks his car as he guides her to the front door, using a key to twist into the lock, successfully unlocking his friend's door. She stares with confusion, wondering the reason he owns a key.

I guess that's what friends are for.

Walking through the hall, they halt when they reach the living room, the rest of the group lounging about as the television displays a program. A shriek was heard before Sara ran to the unsuspecting girl, wrapping her in a tight hug.

I'm so happy you came! What made you change your mind?"

Pulling back from the hug, Y/n explained the mistake with honesty. Sara accepted, handing her a bong. She pulls out her own joint and motions that she already has something to consume. Sara shrugs, grabbing her hand and guiding her to the couch. Kalen greets her, waving as he smiles. Devon's eyes, locking on his screen, doesn't bother to acknowledge her presence as he lies on the loveseat that sits next to the couch, which she is grateful for.

Anxiety subsiding as time passes, Y/n blows out another cloud of smoke as she watches the screen, tuning into the device plastered on the wall across from her. Sara, sitting on her right on the sofa, her legs crossed as she leans her head against Kalen's chest. Carter sat next to Y/n on her left, thumb scrolling against the screen.

Feeling oddly social, her comfortability level growing because of her high, Y/n begins to speak her thoughts, asking the questions she's had on her mind since they've all been in contact.

            "How'd all of you meet?"

Immediately regretting her decision when the silence lasts longer than a few seconds, she shifts awkwardly in her seat as she glances around the room. Sara and Kalen stare ahead, expression stoic, seemingly waiting for someone to respond other than them. Devon pauses, looking up from his phone and facing the tv, Carter continuing to eye his device, yet he pauses his swiping.

Before anyone responds, a click echoed throughout the hallway, the door opening and shutting as footsteps come near.

"Amie!" Sara exclaims, "Welcome home!" She smiles from her seat, waving when the black haired girl walks in. Seeing the appearance of the person who arrived, Y/n kept her gaze on the television, avoiding the piercing gaze of the newcomer.

"You." She growls, hands on her hips as she stands ahead, her eyes narrowing at the culprit who ran into her the other day. Irritation filled her body, eyeing the intruder. Carter looks up from his phone to meet the gaze targeted against his guest with confusion. The others, except Devon, eyebrows furrowed, observing the interaction.

Rolling her eyes, the girl stands from her seat on the couch, turning her gaze to Carter, "I think it's time for me to go. I had no idea she lives here." She drops the roach into the ash tray on the coffee table, grabbing her bag and strapping it across her shoulder. A grip on her shirt halts her movements, causing her to stand in space and turn to the culprit.

"Why do you want to leave? What happened?" Sara asks, refraining from releasing her grip.

"This is the moron that I told you about. The one who knocked all of my stuff out of my bag, which I had to pick up." She hisses, crossing her arms. Y/n shifts her gaze towards her in anger.

"Boohoo you had to pick up your own stuff. I offered to help and you didn't take it. You literally acted like a bitch." The girls in the room gasp as the boys's eyes widen.

"Okay, okay, ladies, let's chill out, yeah?" Kalen states, waving his hands as he stood from his seat.

"How dare you call me a bitch?!" Amie exclaims, walking forward, ending face - to - face with Y/n.

"You called me a bitch first! Also, I said you acted like one, aren't you smart enough to know the difference?" She responds, fists forming at her sides, the high long forgotten as it was replaced with temporary sobriety.

Devon watches the exchange with a mischievous glint in his red eyes, a slight smirk forming as he stares at the conflict, his adrenaline accelerating the louder the two girls get. He crosses his legs, hiding the bulge forming as excitement engulfs his senses. His nails pierce the cushion as he squeezes.

Kalen stares at the two girls with fondness, finding amusement in their arguing. It's as if Y/n already fits perfectly in their bubble, whether the others realize it or not. He sees it now in the fiery passion that is being released from her.

Sara jumps up, landing in between the duo with her arms spread out, giggling slightly as she faces Y/n, repeating, "Alright, alright, everyone chill out." Carter watches with an unreadable expression.

Both quiet down, mirroring each other by crossing their arms with a visible pout. Amie red in the face, as Y/n's hands tremble. Carter uses the opportunity to pull Y/n back to her seat, seizing her arm causing her bottom to land on the couch.

"Let's take a breather, guys." Kalen and Sara sit in their spots, Devon motions for Amie to sit next to him, resulting in an unlikely cuddle session as he caresses her back.
