Little hummingbirds know when to leave, they flutter about and play all spring and summer, and in some places where they know thee loved stay through fall. The desert of Arizona is full of several types of hummingbirds, as discussed earlier. Some are green, red throated and purple and pinks. They love the dry heat of the desert and play in water when you're feeding your garden, they live in the writhing tall cypress trees, when it's too warm for them, and come out to play when the sun is going down or coming up in the morning. But these little sweet critters know when it's time to leave for the season, most fly away to their cozy nests, or migrate to warmer climate as the high desert gets very cold in winter, kind like some family as cold as a tomb. Hummingbirds are like people as well, they know when to come back to warm home, and when to stay away from a shallow distant one they don't know. Humans can take lessons from hummingbirds; some people don't care though they only listen to their own echos of words that don't make sense. Family is like that they are selfish, cruel and they don't know when to apologize, and they continue living in their dark nest of lies.
In My garden of winter, I might not see the hummingbirds until the beginning of spring, but other little birds live in my trees, little bird that play and enjoy the bird baths, even if there frozen, as if they are ice skating on them, it's interesting to watch a bird, and they know you're watching them, they show off even more. When it's cold they mainly stay in the trees and keep warm with the love of their little families. Unlike humans, they can't talk behind ones back, or be cruel in ways that the inflictor can't even imagine how it hurts, birds only half to watch out for large cats and other predators, but you can say some family can be large cats, claws and all. As for me, I don't hide, however, what does the bible say about "don't eat with those you are corrupt." its kind like birds won't eat where they shit. So, if someone shits on me, over and over, I refuse to eat with them, much less have anything to do with them, and that included family, the worst because sometimes you least expect it, they creep up on you like a hunter, instinct is one's best friend, like birds they have instinct who they can trust. I have never trusted too many people, not even family I have nee burned too many times, too many times to count and still they don't get it, though I have not talked to them, some for years. They either must be stupid, or they plain don't give a damn. I would venture to say they are wrapped up in their own selves with their blankets of selfish self-centered emotion. So, will they only hide till spring? I don't think so, they hide all year and keep hiding.
When hummingbirds do come out from their hiding in Spring they know where to stay and for how long, they will keep coming around if you feed them and know to give them their space, let them come to you, they know who they can trust. They sip the nectar of the red and orange flowers, and they savor the purple blossoms, purple is wisdom and healing, and like the hummingbird gravitate towards planting purple flowers in your garden, the variety of blooms, and species, that is your garden.
In spring with the flowers also comes the weeds, the brambles, and the menaces that spoil the vines. The same is of people and family they can be the little foxes that spoil the vines and ruin the crop. So beware, and get them out early, don't wait until your too exhausted to weed the thorns from the flowers, and don't let the weeds take so deep of roots that they take hold and won't leave. So, if you have family that is weeds, cut them down, dig them out of your soul, and mind, don't let them spoil your every being and hurt you so deeply that you become a prisoner of the dark corrupt vines that strangle you. Simply act like they don't exist, birds do this, birds fly free, and Mermaids don't lose sleep over the opinions of shrimp, and they don't swim in shallow waters.
In spring the hummingbirds come out from hiding, after the long winters nap, that is one lesson they rest, we as humans need rest and sleep, but not to the extent of completely hibernating, depends on what you're hibernating from. Pick and choose wisely what and choose to hibernate from, and you will be a happier person.
Some people feel the need they have to continue the cloak and dagger, and hide things, so secretive, about where pictures come from, or putting statis symbols in their garages, and lying about it, or following the trends, humming birds don't follow trends, or hide, behind lies, they are out in the open and only hide when they need to.
