A lesson on depression

This kind of all consuming pain

I hope you'll never know

It mutes the sound from all around

and makes your moon no longer glow

First it takes a person

Maybe even two

You'll drive yourself mad for answers

He won't even give you a clue

Act two begins, you've assumed your role

He chose you as the lead

Familiar things have now turned foreign

You're now a different breed

The lights have flickered and now they are dimmed

It's time to take your place

It's hard to play the starring role

When you don't recognize your face

The show's begun and it's no fun

Will there be an intermission?

You're taxed and tired and need relief

You're dying by your own admission

Whisked away from the lights

You've come to a screeching halt

It's tentacles and tendrils pulled your further down

It's just your mind at fault

A skewed sense of reality

Nothing else worth living for

I'll just lay down on piles of tulle

I'm going to loose this war
