Everyone woke up with a grunt. The first to sit up was Onew's brother. His head was pounding. He looked around and saw Onew with a little smile on his face. He crawled over to Onew with painful movements. It'd been a really long time since he had full control over his body. Onew sat up and pulled Taemin close to him. Taemin sighed at the warmth. He saw Onew's brother and pulled away. Onew turned around to see him. His smile widened.
"Hyung."
"Jin." They hugged for a long minute before Onew let go and introduced him to everyone.
"Guys, this is my older brother, Hanjin." Hanjin waved in tiny. "Hyung, these are my friends, Key, Minho, and Taemin." The other three smiled and nodded.
"I'm glad to introduce you guys finally. Also, Hyung, you have a lot of explaining to do. You were supposed to die a long time ago. What happened? How are you alive?" Hanjin nodded.
"Before I saw you, the last thing I remember was getting attacked and stabbed. Now I'm here. I don't know anything that was happening while I was trapped in my head. I don't know who I hurt. It's like I was there but I had no control of my body. I hated it." The guys nodded.
"Well, you're back now. I think you should probably not use your powers for a while. You shouldn't either Onew. The energy you used was a lot. There's no telling what kind of consequences you'd face if you'd try to use them without recovering first." Minho said. He was paying a lot of attention to Key in that moment. He seemed a bit unstable on his feet. Minho wrapped his arm around Key.
"Key, you okay?" Taemin asked. Key nodded but Minho knew he was lying. He could hear all of his thoughts and every one of them consisted of watching Minho die.
"Guys, I'm going to get Key out of here." They nodded. Key couldn't say anything but Minho knew what he felt. He needed to get Key out of there. He needed to calm him down. They left the room after that.
"Is he okay?" Hanjin asked out of concern. The other two nodded.
"Key is a bit fragile and Minho has always been the thing that has kept him going." Onew said.
"They're also soulmates. So, you can imagine what it would be like to watch your other half die that many times. Even though Key knew it wasn't real, it affected him deeply. Minho Hyung has been a big part of most of the decisions that Key has made. He lost Minho Hyung for a long time. He's basically Key's everything. He's the reason Key's still alive." Hanjin nodded.
"I understand, but I also think it goes deeper than that. I don't know how but I could just feel it."
Minho sat down and pulled Key to him. Key had already started panicking by then. He was starting to remember his past. He was starting to remember his brother.
"Baby, I'm really okay." Key looked up at him and began to cry.
"After I lost Jonghyun, I thought my life was over. It took everything to get back on my feet. When I met you, I was in such a dark place in my life. I don't even know why I continued to be a trainee after it happened. I had no motivation to do anything but that was the norm in my life at the time. Then you started taking care of me. You made me smile and laugh. You made me want to live again and living through that dream over and over... it made me feel the same way I did when I lost him. It made me useless and pathetic. It was like my heart shattered over and over till there was nothing left and then you came. You ran to my side and reminded me why I fell in love with you in the first place. So please, don't ever leave me. My heart can't handle something like that ever again." A tear slid down Minho's face as he spoke.
"I'm never going to leave you, Key. I promise."
