Jay is your fiancé. Before he became your fiancé, he was your childhood best friend.
You two were really close; everyone shipped you, which felt amazing for you since you liked him more than friends, but you could never tell if Jay liked it. He always seemed shy or uncomfortable when someone mentioned you two as a cute couple.

Your dream came to life when you were told by your parents that you needed to marry someone for your company to be greater than it is. You aren't fond of the marriage, but you had to do it for the company's sake and your parents as well.

Since Jay's parents and your parents agreed on you two marrying, it was basically a forced marriage. But it wasn't that bad since you liked him.

His parents gave the two of you your own house. Since they were rich like that..

Ever since you two got married, you weren't as close as you wanted. He was always busy at work, and busy at different countries working.
But you had to understand the his work was more important than you. You never felt the need to talk or ask about his work as a private investigator or to push him for details about his past. He never talked about either, but you didn't mind.

He clearly saw how you didn't like that, so he always made time for you. Which made you at least happy. He was still trying to love you.

It was one of the many reasons you loved him. He was fiercely loyal to you and to the family you'd started together. He always protected you. He was a good man.

"Y/N," you heard his deep voice call you.

Jay stood tall, dark, and handsome, with an imposing presence.

"Whats wrong?" You asked, looking at him.

"We need to talk," he softly says, sitting next to you on the couch, loosening his tie.

"There's something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now, but I haven't had the courage to, and... I feel like now I absolutely need to tell you."

"You can tell me anything; you know that, right?" You tell him, sitting closer to him and putting your hand on his chest.

He deeply sighs, putting his hand on yours.
"I... I haven't been entirely honest with you about my job. I know you think I've been working as a private investigator, and I know you didn't ask too many questions because you never really wanted to intrude, but... The truth is..."

"What is it, honey? What exactly is it that you have been doing?"

You see Jay pause for a moment as he gathers the courage to say the words.

"I... I've actually been working for the criminal underground for the past few years." He says this as you back away in shock.

"Look Y/N. I hope you're not mad. I didn't want to hide anything from you, but I just didn't know how to bring it up or how to tell you. I've been ashamed of it, and... I didn't want to put you in danger."

You look at him with a shocked and concerned face.
"I don't understand. What exactly do you do for the criminal underground? How did you get involved with them? And why did you never tell me about this?" You mumble all your questions, still shocked and feeling slightly betrayed.

"I know this is going to be hard to believe, but... I started working for them when I was just 18 years old as a way to make money.
I didn't have many opportunities growing up, and I was desperate when they offered me this job."

"You've been working for the criminal underground since you were 18." You softly ask as you feel your throat tightening.

"I thought it would only be for a few months until I found something better, but I got caught up in it, and it's all I've ever known for a long time. I'm so sorry for never telling you, but I never wanted to put you in danger
Y/N, I love you."

"But... how could you? You've never mentioned anything about it.
You've been lying to me."

Jay takes a deep breath and reaches for you, and you slowly back away from his reach.

"I know, love. I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you. I thought if I told you the truth, you'd leave me, and I'd have no one. I didn't mean for it to get this bad. I wanted to tell you, I just struggled with it." He pauses. "Please. Can you give me another chance, please?"

"Oh, Jay..." you whisper as you start to sob.
"I don't know what to say right now. I don't know how I'm supposed to react. I feel so deceived right now. I'm scared of what might happen if they ever find out about our marriage. Why didn't you trust me? Why didn't you tell me? I love you so much!" You cried, looking at him with teary eyes.
"I just don't understand any of this!"

"I just... I don't know. I was scared, and I didn't know who else to turn to. I know I should've trusted you and told you everything sooner, and that's my fault. Please, just try to understand." He begs.

"Look Jay. I want to believe you, but how can I? You've been working for the criminal underground this entire time without my knowledge. You've been hiding this from me for years. How can I trust you again after all this, Jay? How will our marriage ever be the same?"

"Y/N sweetie.. Please, give me another chance."

"I don't know Jay."

"Please, I'm begging you. I know I've been lying to you, and I'm not proud of that. I should have trusted you enough to tell you the truth from the beginning, but I was scared and I was in a bad place. I know I'm not the same person anymore. Please, Jas, you're the love of my life," you watch as his eyes start to get teary. You realize how much he loves you, making you feel bad.

But he did this to himself.

You sigh, "Give me some time." You stand up,
"Im going to stay at my parents."

"Y/N! Please don't walk out on me. I know I messed up, but I just need you to understand everything now."

"No Jay!" You snapped, making his mouth open at your sudden action.

"Give me some time, you did this to yourself.
I thought you trusted me, turns out you're just lying to your own wife."
