———————————————————————
You were babysitting a little boy while his parents were out.
He was well behaved, until you had to give him a bath. He whined and cried, and it started to give you a headache.
The front door opened, and the kid immediately behaved.
You turned around, and your eyes widened in shock when you saw someone very familiar.
It was the quiet nerd in your class.
He looked completely different without his glasses. He was wearing a compression shirt and gray sweats. 😄
He stared at you and smirked when he saw your face.
"Is he being good?" He spoke, his deep voice ringing in your ears.
He walked more into the house, closer to where you were. He crouched down next to his little brother and ruffled his hair. The little boy ran off to his room as you continued to watch him.
He stood up to his full height and looked down at you. He towered over you by a foot. He shoved his hands into his pockets and looked like he was inspecting you.
"He's been a little whiney since its bath time, but he's adorable."
He chuckled and nodded, clearly amused.
"That's because he's a spoiled brat."
He replied bluntly before letting out another chuckle. He looked at you again, his dark eyes studying you like he could see right through you.
He stepped closer to you, his tall figure looking you up and down. You could practically feel the heat radiating off him. He towered over you completely, and you had to look up at him in order to look him in the eyes.
So, how much do I owe you for babysitting?" He asked, his voice deep and gruff.
You softly chuckle, shaking your head. "Your parents already paid me, so nothing."
He raised an eyebrow at that, amused by your response. He shoved his hands into his pockets and continued to look down at you. He had a cocky expression on his face, like he was enjoying the power imbalance.
"No, I mean, how much for you personally? It must've been hell to deal with him."
He chuckled as he said this, clearly referencing how whiny his little brother was.
"Personally?"
He smirked at that. "Don't play dumb. How much do you want for babysitting my little brother?"
He repeated it, his gaze never leaving yours. He was practically towering over you, his broad shoulders making your eyes go wide.
How tall was this guy?!
"Nothing at all; your parents already paid."
He raised an eyebrow at that, a smirk on his face. He suddenly got closer to you until you were practically standing flush against him, his warmth radiating off his body and onto yours.
His muscular build was even more obvious now, and the compression shirt he was wearing did little to cover up how defined his body was.
Your breath hitched in your throat as he leaned down so that he could whisper in your ear.
"No. I mean you personally. How much do you want me to pay you?"
"I swear you don't need to pay."
"Alright," he backs up, chuckling and calling for his little brother, who ran away earlier.
You heard the little boy's footsteps and loud giggling as Sunghoon picked him up.
"You better be nice to her," he says to his brother.
"Ima, go take a shower; see you later," he smiles, putting his brother down.
He left you there, your heart racing. You couldn't help but feel a strange flutter in your chest.
After hearing the shower turn on, you took a deep breath. You couldn't explain what was happening to you.
Why did your heart skip a beat when he touched you so gently?
You've always seen him as a nerdy recluse who only had his head in his books, so why was he suddenly acting so different?
Time passed.
You got through the bath time with his little brother, and now you were making dinner.
The nerd appeared in the kitchen, his hair wet and tousled. He sat down at the table, watching you cook.
He looked less like a nerd and more like a bad boy. He leaned back in his seat and silently studied you while you cooked.
The silence was almost unbearable.
His intense gaze was making you flustered, and no matter how much you tried to ignore him, you couldn't help but feel his eyes burning into you.
You felt like a butterfly under a microscope. He leaned forward and rested his forearms on the table, his eyes roaming over your body.
You finish cooking and smile at him.
"Uh, how long have you been there?" You lied, acting like you didn't know he was there.
He smirked and rested his chin on his palm, looking up at you with that same dark gaze. It looked like he was studying your every move.
"Long enough to watch you cook."
He replied nonchalantly, not taking his eyes off you for a second.
"You hungry?"
He raised an eyebrow and nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He pushed back his chair and stood up, walking over to the counter to get a plate.
"Yeah, I could eat."
"Your brother suggested spaghetti, so I hope you don't mind that."
He chuckled and shrugged as he sat down at the table again.
"It's fine; spaghetti's good."
He looked up at you as you placed the food in front of him. You felt his eyes roam over you again, and you tried to ignore the butterflies in your stomach.
He took a bite of his food and let out a hum of approval. It seemed like he liked your cooking.
"Not too bad." He spoke after he swallowed. There was a slight mocking tone in his voice, but you couldn't figure out if he was just teasing or not.
You smile while watching him and his little brother eat. "You two look cute eating together."
He let out a scoff at your compliment, clearly trying to act like he didn't care, but there was a slight flush on his cheeks that he tried to hide by looking away.
"Stop being so cheesy." He grumbled, stuffing more food into his mouth. The little boy just laughed beside him.
"I'm just saying."
He set his fork down and leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest. He looked like he was contemplating something, his eyes still on you.
"Are you good with little kids?"
He suddenly asked, his voice lower than before. You felt a chill run down your spine at the sound of his deep voice. It sounded like he was implying something more than just a casual question.
"Yeah, I love kids; they're adorable and so playful."
He nodded and smirked; his eyes darkened slightly. He was quiet for a moment, as if he were still contemplating his thoughts.
He suddenly spoke up again, his voice even deeper than before.
"You know, my parents are usually traveling for work. That means I have to look after the little guy pretty much all the time."
"Well, you're lucky they hired me."
He chuckled and nodded, his gaze still locked on you. "It looks like I am."
The way he was looking at you sent another shiver down your spine.
Time passed.
You were getting ready to leave. The house was quiet now, and the little boy was fast asleep in his room.
Sunghoon was standing at the front door as you put on your shoes. He was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, watching you. The silence was almost deafening.
"Are you leaving now?"
He suddenly spoke, breaking the silence. His voice made you jump slightly, and you looked up to see him watching you closely with his dark gaze.
"Yeah, it's getting late, and your brother is already asleep."
He nodded and leaned a little closer, reducing the distance between the two of you. You could practically feel the heat radiating from his body.
"Are you sure you have to go?"
He asked, his voice barely above a whisper. You couldn't tell if he was trying to flirt with you or just messing with you.
"Mmh Why? You miss me already?" You tease
He let out a scoff again, trying to keep up his nonchalant facade, but you could see the pink flush on his cheeks, betraying his composure.
"And what if I do?"
The words rolled off his tongue like smooth silk, sending butterflies swarming in your stomach.
"You'll see tomorrow at school, nerd."
"Watch it now."
He muttered, avoiding your gaze as more pink appeared on his cheeks.
