He raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Oh, come on, I heard you say something. Spill it."

"I promise you, I didn't say anything."

"Okay, fine, I believe you," he chuckles.

You softly smirked, looking back at him.

Everything is going to go as planned...

Heeseung's POV

I sat down beside Y/N, watching as she took photos on her phone of the prom scenery.

I look at her, remembering what my ex said before I left her for good.

"She set me up, Heeseung."
"She likes you. That's why she set me up."
"It's not my fault."
"Don't trust Y/N."

Everything was so confusing to me.

"Heeseung?"

Was she really setting my ex up?

"Heeseung?!"

Does my best friend like me?

"HEESEUNG?"

I shake out of my thoughts and realize that Y/N was talking to me.

"Everything alright? You were zoning out," she says in a soft tone.

"Uh, yeah," I say, trying to sound normal.

I watch as her hand clings to mine.

"Let's go dance," she says, dragging me to the dance floor.

Maybe my ex was right.

Y/N seems very.. nevermind

End of Heeseung's POV

Heeseung holds your waist while the other is in your hands.

While moving to the melody of the song, you realize that Heeseung was not focusing and was instead looking around like he was trying to ignore your eyes.

"Hey, focus on me." You say cupping his cheek.

"Yeah sorry"

He takes your hands and pulls you close to his chest. His hands rested on your hips as you both began to sway back and forth to the music.

"You're thinking about something, aren't you?"

He was, in fact, thinking about a lot of things, but the main one was you.

"My ex. She said something that's really sticking with me."

"And what was it?"

His grip tightened on your waist, making you feel a little stressed out.

"She said you set her up because you like me."

You looked at him with a mix of guilt and determination in your eyes.

It was time to confess.

"I did it. I did it because I like you," you confessed, your voice softer now. "I thought if you saw her true colours, you might give me a chance."

He paused, surprise flickering across his face. "You... like me?" he asked, his tone becoming more bewildered than angry. "But... why didn't you just tell me? Why go through all the trouble of setting me up like that?"

You took a deep breath, trying to explain yourself. "I was scared," you admitted. "I thought you were still into your ex, and I didn't know if you'd ever see me in that way. So, I thought this was the only way to get your attention."

"I didn't want to stay friends forever, Heeseung."

He looked at you, his expression softening. "You didn't have to go through all that just to get my attention," he said, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "But... I can't deny, it was a pretty bold move."

"And... for the record," he added, taking a step closer. "I'm not still into her. I've actually been thinking about you a lot lately."

You got him. He fell for the trap, and now he was going to be yours in no time.

"So you're not mad?"

He chuckled lightly. "Nah, I'm not mad," he replied. "Upset, maybe, but not mad. It's actually kind of endearing how far you went just to get my attention."

Perfect.

"But next time, you can just tell me upfront, you know," he teased, grinning. "There is no need for elaborate schemes."

"But she was your ex. You're going to leave her like that?"

He laughed, running a hand through his hair. "Yeah, she was my ex," he confirmed. "But things have been over between us for a while. I just didn't have the courage to officially end it. Until tonight, thanks to you."

"But you were crying earlier about it. We were in the hallways."

You were confused.

He looked embarrassed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, I guess I was a little emotional. But I wasn't crying about her, really. I was more frustrated and angry with the situation. And a little relieved, to be honest."

"You were saying how you loved her and will miss her."

He blushed, looking away. "Okay, yeah... maybe I did say some stuff like that. But it doesn't mean I still wanted to be with her or anything. I was just... caught up in the moment."

"Oh.. okay"

He noticed your expression, realizing he had to reassure you. "Hey," he said gently, reaching out to touch your arm. "I'm not in love with her anymore. You have nothing to worry about. I promise."

Something didn't feel right.

He normally doesn't move this quickly, and you knew that.
