Sunghoon looked at you as you cried in front of him.

He was too much of an asshole to see how beautiful you really were.

Your heart is beautiful, and you cared so much about him, and he never understood why.
He never treated you the way you deserved.

"Why?" You cry.

Your love scared him. He almost forgot how beautiful your smile was.

"It's a shame," Sunghoon says, caressing your jaw. "You're wasting your tears on a guy like me."

His fingers touched your skin tenderly as he traced your face, his touch light and almost hesitant. He couldn't bring himself to look away from you.

"I don't deserve such a beautiful woman like you." His voice was barely above a whisper, and you could almost hear the self-loathing in his tone.

Sunghoon's thumb slowly wiped your tears away, his heart clenching at the sight.
He could almost feel your pain.
"Stop crying, please," he begged.
"It's killing me."

You see his eyes soften as he looks at you, his thumb moving from your cheek down to your chin, tilting your head up slightly to look at him. "Please don't waste any more tears on me. You deserve better."

"I gave you everything," you continued crying.

Sunghoon's expression softened as he heard your words.

He knew it was true. You had given him everything, and he had taken it for granted.
"I know," he said, his voice low and filled with shame. "I know you gave me your heart. You gave me everything. And all I gave you was pain in return."

"Why are you marrying her, Sunghoon?"

His eyes hardened, and his grip on your chin tightened slightly. But there was a hint of pain in his gaze.

"Because I don't deserve you," he said, his voice a soft whisper. "You deserve someone who is good, someone who is worthy of your love. Not me. I'm a lost cause."

"But I love you!"

Your words hit him straight in the heart.
"I know you do," he said, his voice hoarse. "And that's what kills me the most. You still love me, even after everything I've done to you."

"You never gave me a chance."

Sunghoon had never given you a chance to truly be happy with him.
"I was a coward," he admitted, his voice choked with emotion. "I was scared of how I felt. How much I start to actually care about you."

"Why are you marrying her and not me?"

"You know I don't love her," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I could never love her the way I love you."

"So why can't you be with me?"

"It's complicated," Sunghoon said, running a hand through his hair. "My life is complicated.
I have responsibilities I can't ignore. Responsibilities I have to fulfill... and my family's expectations. I can't just turn my back on them, especially not for you." He explains as you continue to cry.

"Don't cry," he pleaded, his chest clenching at the sight of your tears.
He reached out and gently wiped them away. "Please don't cry, Y/N. I can't stand to see you cry."

You ripped the wedding invitation he gave you.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his voice laced with a hint of desperation.

"Im not going!"

His heart felt like it stopped for a moment.
The thought of you not being there at his wedding was like a stab to his heart.
"You can't do that," he said, his voice choked with emotion. "You have to come. Please, you have to come."

"I can't bear seeing you marry another woman you don't even love!"

His expression hardened, his eyes filling with a mix of anger and pain. "You think I want to? You think I want to marry her?" He snapped, his voice hoarse. "I'd rather be marrying you, marrying the person I actually care about."

You backed away from him. If he was talking like this, why didn't he do it then?

"Y/N, please understand. I don't want this either. I don't want to marry her. I don't want to break your heart. But I have no choice. The decision was made for me."

"Im not going."

He let out a heavy sigh.
He could see the determination in your eyes, and he knew there was no convincing you otherwise. "Fine," he said, his voice rough. "If you won't come to the wedding, I won't force you. But please don't do this out of anger. Don't do this to hurt me back."

Sunghoon took a step closer to you, his hand reaching out towards you, but then dropped back down to his side. His body aching to touch you, to pull you into his arms.
"Y/N, please. Don't let this be the end of us," he pleaded, his voice low and filled with desperation. "You're still a part of my life; you're still important to me. Even if I'm marrying someone else."

"I hate you!"

"You don't mean that," he said, his voice harsh and rough. "You don't hate me; you just hate the situation we're in." His emotions were a tangled mess, and all he wanted to do was pull you into his arms and kiss away your tears. "You don't hate me; you could never hate me."

"I treated you so well! All my time and love went to you! And I get this!"

"I know you did," he said, his voice pained. "You treated me better than anyone ever had. Better than I deserved. I know I don't deserve you. I know I've hurt you."

"You're the worst!" You threw a pillow at him.

The pillow hit Sunghoon's chest, causing him to take a step back. He clenched his jaw, his own emotions bubbling up to the surface.
"Don't say that," he gritted out, his voice strained. "You think this is easy for me? You think I wanted any of this to happen?" He spat out, his voice harsh. "I never wanted to hurt you. I never wanted to lose you."

His clenched his jaw so tightly that his teeth hurt, and he had to take a deep breath to calm himself. He looked at you, frustration and pain etched on his face. "You think I like the idea of hurting you like this? Or making you cry?" he demanded, his voice hoarse. "I'd rather cut out my own heart than see you in pain because of me."

You grab your jacket, wiping the tears you wasted. "Im leaving"

"Wait," he called out, his voice strained. "Please, don't go. Not like this."

"Don't touch me." You glared at him.

His hand, which had instinctively reached out to grab your arm, stopped mid-air.
He retracted it, clenching it into a fist at his side. His chest ached as he watched you prepare to leave.

"Y/N, please," he pleaded, his voice raw with emotion. "Please don't leave like this.
We need to talk."

With that, you left.

He watched as you walked out the door; the sound of it closing echoed through the house. The silence was deafening, and Sunghoon was left to his own thoughts and regrets.

He slowly sank down onto the couch, his shoulders slumped in defeat. He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up.
"What have I done?" he whispered to himself.

He sat there for what felt like hours, his mind replaying the conversation over and over again. The image of your tear-stained face and your broken voice wouldn't leave him.
He tried to convince himself that you would cool down and that you would see reason. But deep down he knew he had hurt you badly.
