The sight of a tombstone focuses my eyes. I stare as Bodhi shovels the dirt on top of Liam's body. Though I wasn't as close to him as Xaden, he was a good friend. A good brother.

I stand next to Imogen as we pay our condolences for the people we've lost.

And it's been too many. Too many deaths.

And I still can't find her. She is probably out there struggling with the guilt of losing Liam. She knew about his death and she couldn't stop it. Who else dies that she knows about?

In order to keep up with the lie that May died. We made a tombstone of her as well. Burying those who may be alive.

"How is the search going?" Imogen asks me, still watching the tombstone. Bodhi walks away with the shovel.

I shake my head. "There is no sign of her."

"We should have never left her there. She told me that if anything bad happens that I'd be the one to trust her. But we both betrayed each other. I didn't listen to her wish." Imogen furrows her eyebrows.

"None of us listened. And now we have to live with the regret. But how are you feeling about the being written in a book?" I gaze at her waiting for an answer.

"I don't know how to feel. Does this mean we have no choice in what we do? Is May the only one that can change our actions and what has she changed? I have all these questions and the only one who can answer them is missing." She sighs, running her hand through her pink hair.

"I also have questions and regrets. We were so focused on the moment that we forgot how dangerous her knowledge can be and that we need her." I gaze at the small flower that was placed on Liam's tomb.

If she was here she would have probably scoured the entire forest for all the flowers she could find. And then cry with each flower she placed down.

"Yeah, not for her powers but for her. Ever since we came here the mood has been gloomy. I hate it. She would probably be trying to cheer us up. I don't understand how she can be like that. So cheerful," Imogen wonders.

"Her world wasn't like this one. At least that's what she told me. She came from a world that didn't envolve as much death but this world felt more liberating to her. I never understood that. I should have asked her." I glance at my hands. Hands that once held her.

"You know she once asked me if I liked anyone. It was a few days after Threshing. She ignored me because she said she didn't know how to ask me if I liked someone. I thought it was very weird, she looked as if she betrayed me." Imogen shrugs her shoulders.

"I kissed her at Threshing, she was avoiding me too." I quickly spin my head to Imogen. "You don't think that—"

"We liked each other in the book. That's disgusting to think about, I could never imagine myself with you." Imogen cuts me off.

"Yeah, that is never happening. I've loved her for too long. The fucking suspense it killing me. I want to know what else we don't know about." I comb my hand through my hair.

"Me too. But that's why she kept it a secret, so we don't mess anything up but it still hurts."

We spend the rest of our time in silence, watching the wind blow the small flower on the gravestone.

It seems that Sorrengail has woken up today. I heard that she interrupted one of their meetings. I still need to ask her if she knows anything about May.

While they were having their discussion, I was tending to Astrope who still isn't feeling well. I hope she has enough energy to reach the Vale, she'll feel better once she is there. This entire trip is taking a toll on all of us.
