While all of the chaos with Eggman is going on, a white hedgehog with green highlights in his spikes is seen walking around Soleanna with a Chao flying right next to him.

His name was Aeon, and although he wasn't the friendliest with others, he was all for helping out the planet. The Chao was his companion, and the two looked around at the scene, almost wondering what was going on.
Aeon: So, this is Soleanna. Doesn't look like the best place, but it's better than nothing.
Chao: Chao Chao.
The two eventually make their way to the main gates of the city and walk into the town, seeing all the people walking around in a panic.
Chao: [Confused] Chao?
Aeon: I don't know, but we've better find out.
Aeon starts running around, with Chao flying right next to him, and begins asking the townspeople what exactly is going on.
Sonic Pov:
I'm currently running away from Eggman's Gunners with the princess in my arms. It was nice getting away from home, but I was curious as to why bad ol' Eggman was making trouble in Soleanna.
Elise: Umm... Why are you helping me?
Sonic: No special reason.
I jump to the opposite side of the city and attempt to start running again, until more of the Egg Gunners stop me in my tracks.
Elise: Sonic!
I place Elise down on the ground and spin dash into the mechs, destroying them. As I get finished with them, however, I hear a scream from behind me. I turn to see Eggman flying away, with Elise as his prisoner.
Eggman: I'm afraid our little game ends now.
Elise: [Wriggles arm free] Sonic, take this!
She tosses something from her freed arm, and it was the blue Chaos Emerald.
Sonic: I've got it! And don't worry, I'll rescue you!
Elise: [Nods; full of confidence] I know!
Eggman: [Scoffs] It's only a matter of time before it's mine. Until then, you can hold onto it for me!
I see Eggman flee with Elise into the Egg Carrier, leaving me to twiddle my fingers.
Sonic: Now what do I do?
???: If you're interested, maybe you could use some help.
I look to my left and see Aeon standing there, with a Chao flying at his side.
Sonic: Aeon? What're you doing here?
Aeon: I could be asking you the same question, hedgehog.
