The Train

Sonic, Tails and Knuckles make it back to the past and it couldn't have been in perfect timing.

Knuckles: [Looks around] Looks like we made it back in one piece.

Tails: [Looking for Shadow and Rouge; confused] Where did Shadow and Rouge go? Did they appear someplace else?

Sonic: Those two can take care of themselves.

Sonic finds a newspaper and reads it, and what it mentions is not something to be impressed about. Aeon appears running ahead to a train with Sally in his arms, and at top speeds too. Eggman looks behind and sees him, and wasn't really happy.

Eggman: [From train] Aeon! Shouldn't you save the train before chasing after me?

Elise: [In panic] Help! Aeon! Help!

Sally: That doesn't sound good.

Aeon: No, it doesn't. Sally, I'm dropping you off.

Sally: No way. I'm staying with you.

Aeon: [Smiles] Then we better get to the train.

Aeon runs ahead and starts shooting at Egg Gunners with his arm cannon, destroying them in his path. He then proceeds to jump ahead to one of the turns of the tracks and sees a bomb strapped to it, which he shoots at it and blows it up.

Sally: [Smiles back] You're almost exactly like Sonic.

Aeon: So they tell me. We've gotta make it across this scale. Hold on tight!

Sally latches onto Aeon and the hedgehog uses Chaos Control to teleport all the way across the scale, then continues running past Egg Gunners. Eggman's machines were definitely starting to fight seriously, but Aeon wasn't going to stop here.

Aeon: [Spin dashing Egg Gunners] We'd better hurry!

Sally: You can do it, Aeon! I know you can!

Aeon: These guys won't stop me. [Grabs Chaos Emerald] Chaos Control!

Aeon blurs past the Egg Gunners and destroys the second bomb, still going strong against the train. Aeon makes his way to the final controller and finally catches up with the train, but something was odd.

Sally: [Looks ahead] Aeon, do you see that?

Aeon: [Looks up ahead] Elise's train is... [Shocked] Uh oh! Gotta speed up!

Aeon goes ultimate speed to the train, but there were bombs strapped to it.

Aeon: Sally, can you see Elise onboard?

Sally: [Looks at train carts] Yeah! She's on there.

Aeon: [Smiles] We've gotta get on there then. Ready for another Chaos Control?

Sally: [Nods]

Aeon, with one final push, reactivates his Chaos Control and teleports into the train. Once on he starts going to the front and finds Elise, sitting there looking out at the scenery.

Aeon: [Smiles] Hey there.

Elise: [Turns to him; smiles] Aeon, you're here.

Aeon: I'll always keep my word, Elise. No matter what.

Sally: Could we maybe get off of this mad train, y'know, before it goes boom?

Aeon: Sally's right. [Takes Elise's hand] Hold on, Elise.

Elise: [Nods] Okay, Aeon.

Aeon: [Grabs Sally; smiles] You ready?

Sally: Yeah.
