Elise is currently sitting in a dungeon in Dusty Desert as Eggman's prisoner, holding onto her hope as she remembers her father's last words to her.
Elise's Father: You're a good girl, Elise. Remember, be brave. Don't cry no matter what happens.
She nods to herself, keeping her tears bottled up inside, but gets drawn out of her thoughts by the sound of rubble crashing down from the room. She turns to an opening in the dungeon and sees Sonic, Aeon and Tails standing there.
Elise: Mr. Sonic!
Sonic: [Brushes the formalities away] Just call me Sonic. [Elise hugs him] Now then, are you OK?
Elise: I-I'm so glad that you came...
Sonic: [Nods] I always keep my word.
Elise: [Looks to Aeon; curious] Who're you?
Aeon: [Extends hand] The name's Aeon. Aeon The Hedgehog. [Bows to Elise] It's quite the honor to meet you, Princess Elise.
Elise: [Lightly chuckles] The honor's all mine.
Tails: Sonic! Aeon!
The two hedgehogs look towards the gate and see Eggman standing there. Egg-Cerberus was right behind the gate as Sonic, Aeon and Tails intend to leave with Elise.
Eggman: It looks like two pesky rats have stuck their noses where they don't belong. [Corrects himself] Well, two hedgehogs to be more precise...
Aeon: [Prepares cannon] Well, hello to you too, Dr. Robotnik.
Eggman: The Princess is mine until I unlock the secret of the Flames of Disaster.
Sonic: [Steps in front of Elise] Tails!
Tails: Got it! Let's go!
Sonic: Aeon, get Elise out of here.
Aeon: Got it. [Holds Elise in arms] Hold on tight, Princess.
Elise: [Nods] OK.
Aeon runs out of the dungeon with Elise in his arms, but almost gets stopped by Eggman's Egg Gunners. Sonic spin dashes at them and clears a path for the two, then turns his direction towards Egg-Cerberus.
Sonic and Tails meet up with Aeon and Elise, who are outside of the temple.
Aeon: What took you?
Sonic: Oh, you know. Annoying Eggheads, giant Egg-bots. Just a usual day for yours truly.
More Egg Gunners appear in front of the sunset, ready to pursuit the four.
Sonic: [Crosses arms] How long is this going to go on?
Tails: Let's split up. I'll get their attention, and you take the Princess.
Aeon: [Nods] Not by yourself. I'll be with ya, Tails.
Sonic: [Thumbs up] OK. You two be careful.
Tails: Leave it to us!
Aeon: [Crosses arms; light chuckle] We'll be fine. Besides, there's nothing I can't do.
Tails: Plus you'll have my tech.
Tails hovers in the air and Aeon grabs his hands as the two fly and leave Sonic to protect Elise.
Sonic: [Picks Elise up bridal style] Hold on tight!
Elise: [Nods] OK!
Sonic takes a running start and begins running through the desert, with Elise in his arms.
