Watching the sun set, I hummed, letting my brain form the notes as I go. After a little bit of doing so, I hum a melody I resonate with. I immediately write the notes down on my laptop. Inspiration sparks and I add in more notes, the song forming in my mind faster than I can write it down.

At this point, I was so immersed in music writing, that I didn't notice someone had joined me on the balcony.

It was Tokiya, who had come here to quietly read, using the glow coming out from the windows and from the scattered light of the sunset.

There was a stillness in the air tonight, and it was quiet, in contrast to the main commons of our home, which was currently noisy since Syo was having an action movie night with some of the other idols.

In hindsight, no wonder he came here to read.

At some point, I noticed Tokiya.

"Ichinose-san, I didn't even realize you were out here with me. Good evening! I hope you had a good day today." I greeted him with a bright smile.

Tokiya looked back at me with eyes that reflected the sunset.

"Good evening. Please, call me by my first name, L/N-san. I had a great day today." The quiet man gave a soft smile and spoke gently.

"That's good news, Tokiya-san! Feel free to call me Y/N~"

We then went back to our activities. Though after a while, I caught Tokiya looking over at me, his attention turned away from the book.

"Tokiya-san?" I blushed ever so slightly under his thoughtful gaze.

"You're working hard over there, aren't you? What are you up to?" He chuckled.

"Songwriting. Wanna hear what I've got so far?" I beckoned him closer.

Tokiya moved his chair next to mine, our shoulders ever-so-slightly brushing each other.

"I got inspired and started writing a new song tonight." I offered him an earbud.

He took it, interested.

The song began to play.

Since I had only just started writing it tonight, there wasn't that much written, but I had the main notes for the chorus and some other parts of the song, written in piano. I still needed to get some more chord progressions and other instruments set up, but I was feeling pretty confident about it.

Once it ended, I spoke.

"It's not much, but it's the foundation of a good song that's yet to come." Giving a gentle smile, I took at him to see his thoughts.

Tokiya made eye contact with me, his blue gaze showing interest. The gentle man's attention made my heart flutter and I couldn't help but blush again.

"T-Tokiya-san?"

"I don't think you give yourself enough credit, Y/N-san. What you can do is impressive. It's becoming clearer to me why you're here. I look forward to the day I can sing some of your work."

I smiled, soaking in the praise.

"Here's to discovering more of your talents, Y/N-san." He got up, stretching.

"But for now, I bid you goodnight. Please remember to not overwork yourself and rest as needed." Tokiya gave me another warm smile and left.

Aw, he's looking out for me~

I went back to working on the song, finishing up the rest of the unwritten notes I had stuck in my head.

My song recipient was still not home.
