It's been a week since your dinner tasting at The Bear. He's been on your mind everyday and it's been getting in the way of your work. Daydreaming at the desk, typing out your thoughts in emails, knocking over coffee because you just couldn't focus.
Adina advised you should just ask him out yourself.
"Are you insane?"
"No I'm right." You scoffed at her bad attempt to play matchmaker.
"Girl look, he personally made you a dish without you having to pay for it. He knows your name, and practically makes F ME eyes at you whenever you walk past the restaurant!"
"Aaahh!!!" You flew your hands up to your ears covering them as you walked away from her.
"You're just scared he might reject you. He seems nice." Adina plopped down on the couch so she could turn the TV onto Netflix.
I was afraid of asking him out. He made me all types of nervous when I was around him. Even from just locking eyes I got flustered. We barely know each-other, I don't want to embarrass myself.
"Line cooks never say no!" She shrugged. "I know from experience, remember when I worked at Denny's and th—"
"He's a chef Adina not a 'line-cook'."
"I don't think we should discriminate people in the kitchen." She walked over to the couch before snuggling up under the couches overthrow.
"God I love this show" she chuckled to herself, kicking her feet up onto the coffee table.
"I can't stand Debbie though she pisses me off."
"You say this everytime you turn on the t.v."
"Yeah cause she's annoying!" The remote pointing and shaking vigorously at the TV screen.
You leaned over her shoulder from the back of the couch to tune into what was playing.
"Don't you think that Lip guy kinda looks like Carmen?" Adina's head turned on a swivel to face you.
"Y/N..."
"What?" You threw your hands up, defensive.
"I don't see it sorry." Adina rolled her eyes before turning back around.
You left her to enjoy her show before finding solace in your room. You thought about what Adina told you. You convinced yourself however that taking her advice would probably ruin your chances of ever seeing him again.
______"That'll be $47.54."
You huffed before reaching into your bag for your credit card. All that for 3 small things from the supermarket. Your pantry was just out of a few condiments and you needed to fix it before 'girl dinner' became every dinner.
"Oh shit." You murmured under your breath. You took one last look at the shopping bags and realized you forgot paper towels.
I had the food but not the paper towels? Jesus Christ Y/N.
"Im so sorry, I forgot something. Can I just run to grab them?" You pleaded with the cashier.
The older man who almost resembled Santa with how long his frosty white beard was, just stared at you with a deadpan face.
"Actually nevermind." You swiped your card before apologetically smiling at the cashier and the customers impatiently lined up behind you.
Grabbing your things you made you're way over to the kitchen necessities aisle next to the baking goods aisle. And to your surprise, he was there.
