It's currently Saturday and what you would classify as a 'date' with Carmy is tomorrow. You guys have been texting ever since. There would be long pauses between convos but you knew Carmy was just busy at work. Your heart would jump at every notification, even if it was a measly reaction to a previous message.

You wondered if Carmy felt the same.

"Is Carmy in there?" Sugar had came in for the day to fulfill her manager duties and help Carmy out.

"Uh Yeah I think so." Sydney said motioning towards the office door. She held it open for the pregnant Natalie.

"There's your guy." Carmy was sat as his desk, phone in hand staring intently at the screen. He was supposed to be running the weekly costs but instead he got distracted. And Carmy wasn't one to get easily distracted by the nonexistent apps on his phone.

"Hey Carm?"

"Hey Sugar what's up?" He asked without looking up from his phone.

"Was just checking up on you," her brow slightly raised, "You've been on the quieter side for the past few days." She stood over Carmy's shoulders before he realized and shut his phone off.

"Yeah it's been hectic in here but things are cleaning up nicely."

"Have you tried the new risotto?" He looked up at her as she carried an unamused look on her face.

"Is this the risotto you had your new friend try? Or are we talking about something else?" She teased. "Because I don't know if our budget at the moment can handle another item." A grin crept up on the corners of her lips as she leaned on the old metal desk.

"Ha ha, so funny Nat."

"But seriously, is everything okay? Your mind has been somewhere else." He rubbed his palm against the bottom half of his face.

"All good Nat." A chime from his phone went off.

"Carmen Anthony Berzatto... who's blowing up your phone like that on a Saturday afternoon?"

"Um no one, repair guys."

"Lies, the repair guys text me because you don't even bother replying to them half of the time." She snorted before reaching her hand out.

"Let me see~." Carmy shook his head before getting up from his seat. The phone chimed again but this time Carmy took the time to read it.

Sugar shot up from the desk and stood over his shoulder to read what could've possibly gotten his attention.

"Who's y/n?" She gasped. "And why is she asking you about what to wear?" Carmy stood silent in refusal to answer her question.

"Nat, it's nothing I promise you."

"Uh huhhh."

"Here sit." Carmy motioned at the chair suddenly remembering his sister is indeed pregnant.

"Aw a gentleman, already practicing pulling out her chair." Natalie smiled.

"Nat-" Even Carmy couldn't suppress a light chuckle. "Just help me. Please." He motioned at the scattered papers across the desk.

"Whew ok." She exhaled. "So first of all we need to optimize inventory turnover"

"Cool. Got it."
