It's orientation day, meaning that I was going to walk into Pacifica for the first time. I don't really know what to expect, since it's definitely a new environment that I'm unfamiliar with.
Knowing that there weren't going to be people as annoying as Evangeline and Kassidy was relieving, but I have a strong feeling that I'm going to run into a lot of snooty bitches. I hate those types of people. They always get on my nerves, and for the rest of the year I'm going to be surrounded by them.
My parents will learn to realize that sending me to such a "prestigious" school will only destroy my grades and make me hate life more than ever. They never let me make decisions for myself. If life went my way, I'd be a lot happier.
Maybe if I'm bad enough of a student, I'll get expelled and my parents will finally realize that it was such a preposterous idea to send me here. They never care about me until something that I do stains their image, anyway.
My parents said they would drive me there and pick me up once I was finished, because they wanted to hear all about my experience as soon as they could. I tried to argue with them, but they're always so stubborn. They didn't budge.
"Have a good day, Verity. Make friends. Be nice to people." my mom said from the passenger's seat. I rolled my eyes, knowing that she couldn't see me.
"I'll try." I forced out.
"I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends." my dad turned his head towards me, a wide grin on his face. It pissed me off. I didn't know why, though.
"Yeah, whatever." I cleared my throat, opening the door and grabbing my backpack. "Bye." I dismissed bleakly and shut the door before they could say anything more.
When I stood in front of the school doors, there were hundreds of students crowded around the entrance, chatting away. My guess was that they all knew each other since freshman year, which already singled me out from everyone else.
I kept getting shoved to the side by a bunch of people and they would send me lazy apologies, which is better than what I would've gotten back at Monterey.
A tall, lean lady in a black pantsuit opened the door and poked her head out. She had short, fluffy brown hair and wrinkles under her eyes. She smiled at the crowd, and received a few hugs here and there from students.
"Is everyone ready?" she spoke through a megaphone. Everyone cheered. What kind of fucking school is this? Who gets excited for school?
"Awesome. I'm so excited to see you all back at Pacifica this year. Let's have a great semester!" she whooped, opening the doors and letting all the students flood their way inside.
