Not sure if I was hallucinating or something, but I think Hyunjin is coming up the stairs. And he looks a little too much like he's headed straight for us.

Each step he took increased my heart rate, making me intensely anxious. Is he coming over here?

No, it's just my brain messing with me.

Then, he made his way to the top of the bleachers and turned around, making direct eye contact with me. Fuck. He is coming over here.

"Wonyoung, he's looking at us." I slapped her frantically, unsure of what to do.

"Oh god." she inhaled sharply, holding her breath. "Don't panic. Act normal. He'll leave once he's uninterested."

I nodded at her advice, praying that it's factual. After learning the hard way from Yongbok—Felix—I came to the conclusion that I really just don't know how to talk to guys. It doesn't matter whether I like them or not, it's just a...struggle of mine.

He inched his way closer to us, muttering 'excuse mes' to a couple of girls, and they all became a giggling mess. Barf.

"Sorry, could I take that seat from you for a bit?" he flashed a brunette girl a shiny smile, and I watched her face heat up. She quickly nodded and got up from her seat, walking the opposite direction.

He took the seat next to me, turning his body to face me. My anxiety was already worsening.

"You new here, pretty girl?" he tilted his head, tugging on his lip as he scanned my face. I cleared my throat. I reciprocated, eyeing his appearance. He was wearing a blue jersey that read, "Pacifica Tritons." His blonde hair was tied into a half-pony, and he let his bangs hang loosely over his face. His jawline was sharp, his lips were full, and his eyes were...captivating. If that's the right word to use. I hated how they trapped me. I hated how they pinned me down. I hated how...pretty they were.

"None of your business. Can I help you?" I pursed my lips, trying to maintain an unbothered expression but I can't lie to you, it's very difficult at the moment. His gaze is so intense, I'm sure he could see just how nervous I am. And he's definitely plotting on digging that out of me until I crack.

"So, you are. I can tell from the hostility." he laughed. It was a sweet sound, but almost too sweet. It sounded fake, and I'm sure it was. What does everyone mean when they say they can tell I'm not from here?

"What does that have anything to do with it?" I narrowed my eyes, slowly gaining confidence.

"Any Pacifica kid would know that it's conduct to respond politely to others." he leaned forward, causing me to instinctively back up further away from him. "You must be a public school kid."
