from erin:

his cute face?

to erin:

ew hes is NOT cute

I will admit that when I sent that I was aware that I did not believe that at all, I knew how incredibly attractive he was but his attitude had ruined him for me.

I didn't want him to be happy. Is that wrong?

Yes.

The day was cloudy and all motivation of doing anything productive had been thrown out the window. I had intentions of going to the gym—had—but I decided I much rather stay home and cook Erin and I something.

Erin would be coming home late, she was working long shifts at the hospital, so I had plenty of alone time and that was perfect. Rainy days were meant to be spent in bed, doing absolutely nothing.

I headed to the kitchen and began to prepare all the ingredients, deciding to cook us some rice with chicken and a side of vegetables. I had been in my own world, singing along to Up All Night when suddenly my music was interrupted as my phone began to ring.

Calum.

"What do you want?" I said as soon as I answered, while checking that everything was going good on the stove.

"Hi to you too," he spoke, annoyance clear in his voice.

"So..."

"Michael wants to see Erin," he said with a hint of disgust in his voice.

"No way! Even after she threw up on you?"

"I know! And it's not like he didn't see it! He saw how bad my shoes were. Actually, he was the one that threw them out."

"I guess the heart wants what the heart wants," I said, bitting into a piece of broccoli.

"What are you eating?"

"Why do you care," I said, as my eyebrows scrunched in confusion.

"I don't. I was just making conversation, damn."

"Okay... but, hey, why did you call, you could've texted me this," I told him, raising one brow in curiosity.

"Oh, cause I was driving and started getting sleepy, thought talking to you would help with that." He said before letting out a yawn.

"Ah, I understand. You think I'm interesting."

"Not at all. You just make me mad and I figured mad me is better than sleepy me, flipped over on the side of the road."

"I think I prefer sleepy you, flipped over on the side of the road," I said, shrugging as I went over to the stove to turn off the burners since my food was ready.

"Psycho," he said before he let out an amused breath.

"Why didn't you just call your girlfriend?"

"She's asleep." He said, causing a smile to form on my lips. I turned to look at the clock and saw it was only 7.

"She's asleep?" I began to say, "at 7? Either she's a weirdo or shes lying to you, honey. So sorry."

"She's not—whatever, she's not asleep, we're just not talking right now," he said hesitantly and I wondered why he was telling me, because I absolutely did not want to know anything about their relationship.

"I literally don't care," I said as I began to fix a plate for myself.

"Oh. My. God. Why are you so rude? Anyways I'm almost home so I don't need you—" With no notice, he hung up on me but I couldn't say I was surprised. I would've hung up on me too.

And with that last text, all texts from him ceased that night. I was not waiting for his texts, of course, but I found myself rushing to my phone when I got a notification only to be met with disappointment? No. There's no way I'm disappointed that he didn't text me back.

I spent my night eating and watching American Horror Story alone, until Erin came home. She was very thankful for the food I had prepared and she was quick to eat it all after a very, very intense day at work.

"He really said Michael wants my number?" Erin squealed with her mouth filled with rice. "I'm so happy!" She placed a hand on her chest almost as a way to contain her heart there. Wow, she really was in deep after only knowing him for a few hours. I couldn't say anything though, I understood her. He was very attractive and his red hair just made him stand out too much, in a very good way.

"He just wants the money. Basically he's holding his number ransom until you pay," I laughed.

"Do you think you could set something up and give him the money? I'm working long shifts this week, I have no time to give him the money but I want Michaels number already!"

I rolled my eyes. Having to see him would ruin my day but there were worse things than having to see Calum, I suppose. And Erin deserved it, she was a good friend and I adored her so I decided I would help her.

"I guess. Let me tell him to drop by work tomorrow so he can pick it up." I said, pulling out my phone.

"Thank you," Erin squealed throwing both her arms around me.

to calum:

drop by my work tomorrow so i can give you the money??
