"A little bit more blush—ooh, we need some more lipstick too," Erin said, 'working her magic' on me, while I was seated uncomfortably on a chair, waiting for her to finish doing with my face whatever she wanted. I wasn't too happy about the whole 'night out' thing, since it all spelled trouble to me. (With Erin being the cliche best friend by picking out quite revealing clothes and deciding that she wanted to get wasted that night, I was sure things wouldn't turn out too good. In fact, I was almost certain that just leaving my peaceful and natural habitat would lead to something bad happening tonight.)
"You know, I still don't feel like going out tonight, Erin. I know you said that I would change my mind after I saw myself," I spoke as she stopped applying blush to my cheeks. "But it's making me want to go even less." I looked at myself in the mirror and cringed a bit at the makeup (it wasn't bad, not at all, it was just too colorful for me).
There was a small silence between us, and then I was given an 'are you serious' annoyed look from Erin. It was quite understandable since Erin had just spent over an hour doing my hair and makeup—but in my defense, I had stated many times I had no energy to go out today.
"Are you serious, Raven?" Erin voiced her thoughts, shaking her head in dissapointment. There was another wave of silence, while I shrugged and smiled at her.
"Well, yeah," I said, "and don't act shocked, I complained the entire time."
"Ugh, fine. There's an hour of my life I'll never get back." Erin sighed, dropping herself on my bed, a smile on her lips. That's what I loved about her, she never was mad for too long.

I was cozy and warm in my bed, wearing my baggiest sweatpants and my biggest sweater, enjoying the company of my boyfriend, Netflix. Sure, I was a loser with nothing better to do on a Friday night, but I didn't care. (I was starting my new job Monday and wanted to do nothing all weekend before all of the stressing started.)
It had been three hours since Erin had left for a fun night out with Carrie (in all honesty, I didn't quite like Carrie but sadly Erin was 'friends' with her). It was a bit past midnight, when I felt my phone vibrate next to me. Erin's name flashed across the screen, indicating an incoming call. I really welcomed the idea of not picking up, but then, what kind of friend would I be?
"What's up," I spoke into the phone with my eyes fixed on my tv screen, where Forrest Gump was playing (this was my fourth time watching that movie).
I had expected to hear my friend's voice, so when a deep one answered me instead, I was a bit startled. "Uh, yeah, hi. Um, is this Raven?"
"No, this is Patrick." I was so not ready for adulthood. Nope, just no.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Wrong number--"
"No, wait! This is Raven," I spoke, trying to keep from bursting out into laughter.
"Oh, okay. Uh, this is Michael," the guy said, sounding quite nervous as he spoke.
"Why do you have my friend's phone, Michael," I said, using his name as a way to sound a bit more intimidating because I still had no idea why he had Erin's phone.
"Well, uh, Erin and I met at a club but she is so drunk right now and I wanted to take her home safely, but, like, I don't know where she lives and it seems like she doesn't either."
"Oh,"--I looked over to the clock on my wall, sighing at the fact that I was going to have to go to Erin's rescue--"um, where are you guys at?"

I hadn't even bothered to change or even thought about my hair--it was still up in a messy ponytail--, I had just grabbed my keys and left my apartment as I had been. On my way to the club, I had recited to myself what I would tell Erin tomorrow morning, once she wasn's intoxicated. "Erin, you are twenty-two, act like it," I told myself. "No, but twenty-two year olds do act like that."
When I had arrived, I was greeted by a tall red-haired guy, who I instantly assumed to be Michael. "Uh, I left her with my friend," was what Michael said when I questioned him about Erin. I didn't mind the weird look Michael had given me when he first saw me--he had looked a bit surprised, possibly at the choices I had made with my appearance, but I had just shook it off.
I made my way towards my friend (I recognized her by the red dress she wore along with her red heels), who was only staying up thanks to the help of the other tall guy with dark hair. I made my way towards them both, sighing as I the saw way Erin swayed from side to side, almost falling multiple times.
"God, Erin, you're so irresponsible," I spoke, causing the tall guy who had been keeping her up , to snap his attention to me. "I'm her friend," I clarified and he just nodded. Just as Michael had done, the guy had also stayed staring at me, probably wondering as to why I had left my house looking like I did.
"Raven! How nice to--" She was stopped mid sentence as the alcohol, along with what she had ate throughout the day, began to make its way up out of her mouth. With a swift motion, Erin had turned to face behind her, where the guy stood, causing her to release the disgusting contents of her stomach on the poor stranger's shoes.
"Fuck." I covered my mouth, finding it hilarious.
"You think this is funny?" His voice was threatening, but I just looked up at him, smirk on my lips.
"Actually, it's quite hilarious," I spoke, my eyes looking directly into his. We both maintained looking at each other, neither wanting to even blink as a part of their small staring contest.
"Calum, Ashton called, he needs us over," Michael caused Calum to finally look away from me and I mentally congratulated myself for winning.
"Whatever," Calum spoke. I then watched as he walked away in a very comical way, in his vomit-filled shoes.
"Come on, Erin, lets get you home," I spoke, grabbing her arm as I guided her away from the small puddle of disgusting vomit. Let this be a lesson to you all, don't drink, you'll end up vomiting on hot strangers.
