Eyes stinging, head throbbing, and heart racing. My eyes started to slowly open but not fully. I started to regain my consciousness after being knocked out cold. As my eyes opened wider I took a look around my surroundings, all dark. I could barely see anything. As I waited for my eyes to adjust I noticed my hands tied behind me and my stomach strapped into a chair. I did not try to move, for I knew it would come to no use.

After a few minutes my eyes adjusted more. I noticed I wasn't alone. There were many other humans all surrounding me in the same room, some crying while others causing fights with one another. I leaned my head back and sighed at the thought of the situation I had gotten myself into. "W-we're all gonna die!" Yelled one of the girls, screaming on the top of her lungs. I could tell she had no strength left after. "Screaming ain't gonna get us outta here." Yelled another one. I looked down at him, his messed up hair and dirty face. He was sitting in a position that made it look like his legs were broken. The door then slammed opened. One by one humans were pulled out of their spots and dragged out the door. I had come to realize that we were most likely being auctioned.

I overheard others talking about the king. I have heard of him but never took much interest in the royal family's. I've heard rumors that he had a human fiancé whom died many years back. I shut my eyes and tried to ignore what was happening. After many minutes, what seemed to be hours of watching the door open and shut, it was finally my turn. The man walked up to me, which was followed by him unstrapping my stomach and grabbing the rope that was holding my hands together. He pulled the rope hard causing me to jump up out of the chair and almost hit the ground face first. He kept tugging at the rope as we traveled through the hallway.

Many moments later we had reached the end of our destination. He pulled the door open and shoved me onto the stage. A man was standing next to the door on the stage as if he was waiting for the next one. He looked down at me with a slight grin. The man then grabbed me by the shoulders and placed me onto a chair, holding my hands together. The room was dim and I could hardly see the faces of the people out yonder. I glanced at each vampire, there had to be at least a hundred of them, but one had caught my attention.

There was a man, sitting out in the distance. I could see his red eyes from where I was seated, they stood out. The speaker suddenly turned on causing me to jump a bit but I quickly settled down after the looks I received from the man holding me down. "Next up we have this beautiful young human. He's small and looks around the age of twenty." As the woman spoke I leaned back in the chair rolling my eyes. This was stupid and I could not believe I was in this position. "The starting price will be 1,000 dollars." The woman remarked. I figured It was going to be a lot but not that much, who would even think about spending that for someone like me?

"1,500...1,600..1,750!...1,900...2,220...2,400...2,900...3,600!.....4,500....5,000......" The voices were shouting louder and louder. After that 5,000 everyone kept quiet. I couldn't imagine someone spending 5,000 dollars on me. Unbelievable. My eyes traveled along the room, studying its features. The light above me kept blinking, every few seconds it would stop, then do it again. I drew my attention back to the crowd, analyzing the person I was sure of I'd go to. The woman on the speaker started wrapping it up to sell me to the person who offered 5,000 dollars, until another voice shout out. "10,000."

My eyes widened. I quickly looked up to trace where the voice was, it was the man. And that man wasn't just anyone, it was the king. The king, who hasn't bought a pet for hundreds of years after his last died, had just offered to buy me for 10,000 dollars. There were gasps and the whispers from before grew louder. Nobody else spoke up to try and pay anymore than that for me. "Sold." The word I had wished I would never have to hear had just been said right in front of me.
