Halo Twenty-One: Izaya:
November 10, 2015.
"You're becoming a liability, Izaya-nii."
Izaya sat alone in his apartment, laughing to himself. How did it come to this? He was Orihara Izaya. He was the one who pulled the strings. He was the king of manipulation. What the hell happened? How did this happen?
That video of him attacking that random girl has been seen over a million times. Izaya read over the comments.
"Monster!"
"What a loser!"
"LOL!"
"He was going to kill that girl!"
"What a monster!"
"How could he?!"
"Is she okay?"
"Fake!"
"I hope he goes to jail!"
Usually, comments like this didn't bother Izaya. But this video portrayed him in a negative light. There was no hiding his face. Oh, they hid the girl's face. But not his. More comments, shares, and likes kept pouring in. Izaya threw his phone across the room.
Within five days things, were going to get worse.
It started when he was in jail two nights ago. Izaya ended up spending the night in a holding cell. He wouldn't put it past her to be in one of the cells, laughing at him. She put him in here in the first place. Maybe she would possess one of the guards to beat him up for the hell of it. It did seem a little too quiet tonight. Where was everyone else?
He looked up when he heard the footsteps walking up to the doorway.
"Orihara Izaya! Let's go, your bail's been paid!" the guard shouted. He looked up as the door was unlocked.
Kururi stood outside at the steps with a disappointed look on her face.
"Please don't look at me like that," Izaya pleaded. Kururi said nothing. Instead, she turned and walked down the stairs. The information broker followed behind. The walk home was uncomfortably silent.
Since then, it's been going downhill.
Izaya looked up when he heard his phone ring. His stomach turned. What was it now? It could be her. It was her. She wasn't going to let up on him. She was always going to stack the odds against him.
"Hello, Izaya-chan!" his phone said across the room. The information broker froze. What the...?! How did she manage to connect the call to him? Don't tell him...
"Yes, yes," she said. "Are you surprised? I can take over your phone too. Anyway, how are you today? Did you enjoy your stay in jail?" Izaya gritted his teeth. Smashing his phone to pieces wouldn't do any good. Besides, she would just start talking to him in his remaining phones.
"I heard that you aren't having a good day," she went on. "Yeah, your business associates aren't too keen on someone who attacks a teenage girl unprovoked in public." She was joking, right? She was the one who provoked him!
"I saw your video. You have quite the future in YouTube. How many views does it have now? Let's see... Hm..." She gave off a low whistle over his phone.
"10K in the course of three days. That's quite impressive, I have to say. Too bad you look insane because it. I don't even think the yakuza wants anything to do with you now. How did it feel? All of them putting from you one by one. I mean, I can't blame them. Who's going to want to do business with someone who looks violent and unstable? You've become a liability, Izaya-chan. They don't if and when you are going to snap next.
