Halo Three: Interloper:
December 15, 2015.
"Do you feel any different?" Masaomi asked. Mikado looked at his hand.
"Not really," he said. Mikado and the other tadpoles started to feel better. They didn't look so pale anymore. Megumi felt along her cheeks.
"Heh," was all she said. The others were trying to wrap their heads around this new development by now.
"So what happens now?" Anzu asked.
"I don't know," Naomi said. Megumi rolled her eyes.
"Don't you get it?" she asked. "They are trying to make us into gods. Haven't you noticed all of the changes that kept happening to us over the months? Did you really think they were going to stop with giving us these powers?" The tadpoles said nothing. They had their primary powers, powers from Satoshi, Azusa, and Emily, powerful pheromones that could even make asexuals give them a second look, an endless sea of knowledge in their heads, the ability to see the future, heightened senses, immunity to all drugs, disease, and alcohol, no need to sleep, lost the ability to feel pain, the ability to talk to animals, sensing when each other are nearby and see the last moments of a person's life before they died.
Those weren't the only things.
Maybe Megumi was right. The sex tadpole shrugged.
"Next you know, they'll make us immortal," she said. Everyone looked at her.
"What?" she asked. "You know it's true."
"Who would want that?" Itori asked.
"Well, that's not our choice, now is it?" Megumi asked. No one said a word. They hate to admit it but she was right.
Kitano looked over his notes. Everything was going according to plan. They would give the latest experiment five days for it to take. Meanwhile, the other drugs were doing well.
