Halo Twelve: Sachiko:
December 10th, 2015.
The camera clicked on and the stream went live.
Two girls about nineteen stood in an abandoned parking lot. Both dressed in black winter gear. One girl had blonde streaks in her pigtails. The other one had dark blue hair. Small flakes of snow were falling around them. Some were even dusting the old parking lot.
"Konnichiwa!" they cheered. The girls broke into poses with their hands in heart-shaped.
"Welcome back to Kawaii Spooky! Nyaa!" the blonde streaks said. "I'm Kei and this Yume!"
"Hello," Yume mumbled. Kei bounced on her foot.
"Today, we have a special treat for you!" she said. She turned to face the building behind her and her partner.
"This is Chou Mori Institution!" Kei said. "Today, we're going to take a look inside! There's been rumors of ghosts haunting this place." Yume took out a spirit box.
"We're going to talk to the ghosts in there," she said.
"Yep, yep, yep!" her partner said. She shivered just looking at the dark, decaying building. The girls turned to each other.
"Ready to do this?" Kei asked.
"Uh-huh," Yume said. The girls walked into the abandoned building. Kei was the one with the camera. She started spouting off the history of Chou Mori. Mostly everything that she heard on the internet. Yume just listened as she walked beside her. They walked up to the front door. Kei was the one to push open the door. Naturally, it took work to get it open.
"Gah! Dang it!" she said as she tried to work the chain. The girl had a bobby pin and tried to work the lock.
"Here," Yume said. She reached out and held the lock and chain still. Both girls got the door open.
"That was hard," Kei complained. She breathed out and turned to her partner.
"Ready to do this?" she asked.
"Uh-huh," Yume said. Kei held out her hand to the door.
"After you," she said.
"Thank you," the other girl said as she bowed her head. The women went inside.
It doesn't need to be said that everyone watching the stream could see where this was heading.
Sachiko was unable to focus. This morning, she was at another crime scene. A man was posed in a diner closed for renovations. They found him in the kitchen near the back exit. He looked to be about over 300 pounds and bloated. His eyes looked so empty. Vomit was dried around his mouth. Flies buzzed around the rotting food on the plates. One of them landed on his lower lip. His wife-beater looked so dirty stained with dried blood, drool, and vomit. Sachiko took a step back and covered her nose.
"Who called it in?" she asked.
"One of the painters," a CSI said. "They kept hearing a buzzing noise in the room. His colleagues noticed a rotten smell this morning. They walked back to the kitchen and came across this." He and Sachiko looked at the body being processed.
"No id, right?" she asked. The CSI nervously chuckled at first.
"He's not wearing any pants," he whispered.
"Oh..." the detective whispered. Apparently, the body just had on the wifebeater shirt. Sachiko cleared her throat.
"Um... well... uh... okay then," she said. "Let's just process the scene."
