Halo Twenty-Three: Rena:

They should not exist. She will not allow them. She's tried to tell them this but they won't listen. Some of the others are in love with the tadpoles. She sat on her throne with a cold scowl on her face. She's been planning to do this for many cycles now. The time to act came now. She rose to her feet. Byakko already had everything in place. The humans did the rest.

Time to activate the trap.

She took a sip of her wine.

"Show time," she said to herself. She looked down at the city.

Before the phones went out, Chisa was engaged in a candidature debate. Something about her made the man opposite of her sweat.

She could suck out my soul if she wanted. He wanted to turn around and run away. Chisa glanced over at him. Her opponent cleared his throat.

"Okay!" the moderator said. "We may now begin."

Meanwhile, Kitano changed the channel. Not his thing. Plus, he already knew what the outcome was going to be. He's got other things to think about.

"Thank you for calling," he said. "There seems to be an issue waiting to snare our tadpoles. Oh yes. Good, I knew I could depend on you. Oh, there's one more thing that we need to talk about. Are you alone right now? Good."

Byakko got right to work. She went from home to home of all the tadpoles in the hour of the ox. She giggled to herself as she got to work.

"Die. Die. Die. Die."

They had to remain hidden. Good thing the tadpoles were either at Michiko's apartment or Celty and Shinra's apartment. Byakko couldn't get close to Michiko's apartment. She would have to try the other one when the time came. The tiger girl added on the last one.

"There, that should do it," she said. Byakko jumped up into the air and vanished. Now she had to wait.

December 21st, 2015.

Aya walked up to the brick in the narrow alley with the chalk in her hand. She drew the door and pushed on it. The therapist found the blood knights waiting in their booths for her.

"Thank you for coming out this morning," she said. "I heard that one of you had a question. Which one is it?" Number Eight raised their hand.

"Yes, Number Eight?" Aya asked.

"Are we allowed to have accomplices?" they asked. Number Four lifted her head.

"Accomplices?" the therapist asked.

"Yes," Number Eight said. Number One raised his hand.

"That might be a bit dangerous," he said.

"Yes, but I really do need this," Number Eight said. "He reminds me of someone."

"I too might need someone to help me with this next kill," Number Four said. Clearly, she didn't want to say that. Aya took a moment to think about that.

"One," she said. The knights stared at her.

"Miss?" Number one asked. Aya held up her hand.

"Hear me out," she said. "There are some kills you cannot do on your own. However, it is not wise to have more than one person involved. What you do with this accomplice during and after your mission is up to you. You better choose wisely."

"Thank you, miss," Number Eight said. Aya looked around at the knights in their booths.

"Any other questions?" she asked. Nobody said a word.
