Chapter 5

*fast forward a little bit. To the next day (Tuesday)*

The next day at swim Payton made no attempt to tally to Simon. She was still shocked from his kiss. She was shocked for many reasons one, it was her first kiss. And two because she had not expected it at all.

Payton hadn't told anyone about the kids because she hated what there reactions would be. Her friends would freak out and interrogate Simon way further than they already had. Paytons family would want to meet him at a formal home dinner, to interrogate and intimidate him.

Simon was terrified of facing Payton which luckily he didn't have to do. Once he got in the pool the boys where all moved to the other end. This made it so that there only interaction was when they passed each other in between then walls while swimming.

This was perfect because it gave Payton the time to build up her courage without the distraction of the handsome boy whom she liked. Her plan was easy but would take a huge effort on Payton's part not to chicken out.

Payton knew that her sister was going to be late picking her up from swim so this way it would matter how long Simon took in the locker room. Payton was going to get revenge on Simon for catching her of guard like that.

Payton said goodbye to her friends as they left and per usual Simon was the last person out of the locker room. Right as he opened the doors from the locker room he saw Payton. She was sitting on a little bench by the wall not looking at him. "Hey, Payton! is your sister late again?"

"Yep she is, I'll be here all alone for at least the next 10minutes."

"Do you want a ride?" Simon asked hoping to get to talk to Payton for a bit.

"No I'll be okay, she's coming here anyway... But you could sit with me if you wanted." Payton knew she had him right where she wanted him.

"Okay!"

"So about yesterday," Payton said. "I wanted you to know that I liked that kiss"

There was an awkward pause that Payton expected Simon to say something but he didn't so she continued. "I liked it, but I didn't like that you left right after."

Simon's heart sank, but just as he turned to look at her she grabbed the front of his shirt and kissed him. He was caught off guard for a second but soon started to kiss back. In while the kiss lasted about 5 seconds. And in Simons mind it was 10 seconds shorter than he would have liked.

Once he opened his eyes from the kiss he say Payton gathering her things, she turned to him and said, "that's payback" then she turned and walked out of the building to the curb where her sisters car was waiting, got in and the car drove off.
