Later that night Simon was trying to think of what to text Payton. After 3 minutes he decided on "hey Payton what up" -Simon.
He felt good when he sent it, but after 5 minutes without a response he began to worry. Then after 15 minutes all hope was lost. He knew she wasn't interested. She probably hates him, but Suddenly his phone vibrated. "Hi I'm good how about you?" -Payton
Simon was flooded with relief, acting on his feeling was causing him lots of stress. Mainly because he wanted her to like him back as much as he did her. He knew he was desperate but he played it off by trying to act super chill, only to land somewhere in the middle of obsessed and uninterested.
"I'm good too...." Crap what else would he say? How do you start a conversation? After a moment of panic he had settled with "I'm good too, hey do you want to go out again sometime?" -Simon
"Sure id like that" -Payton
Why was this so easy for Payton?
Meanwhile Payton was freaking out. She didn't think her answers were good in fact she was sure that Simon knew she was freaking out. It was probably pretty easy for him to see. Mainly because she was responding so poorly to his texts.
The two texted until late that night and the subject of these texts where innocent and meaningful. They joked and played 20 questions. They got to know each other unlike they had before as casual friends, and where now becoming fast friends. By the time Friday came around the two had many inside jokes and always had things to talk about to the other. They where sure that there next date would be a lot better than the first.
