Ch 6; Meet Up

Amity's POV 

A week has passed, and the twins already had something they wanted to share with me. For the past week, we have been staying vigilant, and have been keeping a good eye on Zander and Mark. Zander keeps trying to pester the Noceda twins, and even though they have been keeping their cool, I can tell it annoys them. Mark hasn't hung around his brother since the first day they arrived. In fact, it almost seems like he's been avoiding him. Which makes me wonder, how much can we actually trust Mark.

For the past week, I haven't seen Edric or Emira much. They've either been cooped up in the computer room, or they were out doing God knows what. However, this morning before we left for school, they had said this, "get Scarlet and Luz to meet us behind the Sunny Ridge Cafe. We found something that souldn't be spoken about in public or any of the gang meet-ups." They didn't say anything else after that, and they were too serious for my liking. 

The first half of the morning, I didn't have a chance to talk with Luz or Scarlet. It was getting close to our first semester finals, and there was a lot of prep going on in each class. However, once lunch period hit, I made it my mission to find them and inform them of what was going on. 

As I rushed out of fifth period and to my locker to drop my stuff off, I was stopped by non other then Zander. "Hey Amity! How have you been, we haven't really talked since that encounter you had with my brother." He flashed me a cheesy smile and it took every inch of will power in me to not barf. 

"Heh, ya, it's been a while hasn't it. I've been good. Just busy with finals coming up and all." I smiled back. The sad thing about being part of the Mafia, and trying to do a background check on a certain someone, you have to make sure you don't seem suspicious. Even if it makes your stomache churn. 

"Ya, I've never liked finals. I'm just glad it'll be over in about a week. Anyway, have you seen the Noceda's? I feel like they've been avoiding me." He said, taking a glance around. 

"Probably cause they have been." I mumble under my breath in annoyance. 

"Hmm? What did you say?" 

"Oh, nothing. I'm not quite sure. I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet either." I shrug, and start to continue to my locker. Of course, he follows. 

"Well, maybe we can both look for the-"

"Zander!" 

We both look over, and see Mark waving on the other side of the hall. "Can you come here for a sec?"

"Ok! I'll be right over!" He turns to look at me. "Mark must need something, nice talking with ya Amity." He winks, and then heads over to his brother. 

"Gross." I mumble. I place my stuff in my locker and make my way to the lunch room. Immediately, I see Luz and Scarlet standing in the lunch line. They see me, and wave me over. 

"Morning Blight, haven't seen you all morning, busy with finals?" Luz asks with a smile.

"Ya, it's been quite a morning. Also, heads up, Zander is looking for you guys, and I don't know why." I say, making a disgusted face. "Also," I signal for them to lean in closer, "the twins want us to meet them being Sunny Ridge Cafe after school. I think they found something." I whisper, while making sure no one else heard. They both looked at each other, then me, and then nodded. 

We then got our lunch, and headed to our table where Gus, Willow, and Hunter were waiting. "Hey! Bout time you guys showed up." Hunter exclaimed giving Luz and Scarlet a slap on the backs. 

"Ya! And look at you ready to get your ass beat again." Scarlet replied with a 'better watch yourself' smile, and slapping him even harder on the back.
