Jungkook couldn't believe it.

Yumi, his best friend, was considering sleeping with her 27-year-old boss.

How could she when he was right there? He was perfectly capable of being everything—if not more—than her boss could be for her. Additionally, he wasn't a 27-year-old creep who wanted to date his 21-year-old employee; tant mieux.

He drove her on Matilda. Matilda! How could she not want him?

It was killing him.

He was still in slight denial of his feelings for her, but not enough to reign back his frustration over her being into someone else. Someone six fucking years older than her.

When her boss was twenty-one, she was fifteen. The facts worked to edge his anger, and he kept glancing at his phone.

Yumi hadn't responded to his texts, and it had been over three hours.

He knew she was puppy-sitting today, but puppies could take care of themselves after a certain point. She had time to text him, which could only mean she was ignoring him. This pissed him off further, and the poor man in denial of his feelings demolished a Fortnite player that adorned an NPC skin.

"It costs under ten dollars to get an actual skin." He emoted over the demolished character. "This is what you get."

He felt childish and petty, but he didn't care. He needed an outlet for his rage.

The poor child he had just demolished in Fortnite raged at his TV, screaming and crying, and his mother had to drag him out of the living room to put him in time-out.

Jungkook had no idea, of course, that the emoting only edged on the poor child's screams at being taken out of the game, but even if he did, he probably wouldn't have cared. Fortnite was no place for children. It was a battle to the death; a battle he planned to win.

Never mind that Fortnite's audience was targeted towards teenagers. Jungkook was far too into his anger to care about demographics.

On the other side of town, Yumi was putting great effort into not returning Jungkook's texts. It was all she could think about, even with a cute, little Yorkie perched on her lap.

How could Jungkook invade her mind like he was? First of all, how dare he? And second of all, could he stop it? She was getting exceedingly annoyed.

The Yorkie, Lulie, barked cutely.

Yumi sighed, patting the puppy. She was barely a year old in human years; the absolute sweetest thing. How could Jungkook take her focus away from sweet Lulie? For that, Yumi would never forgive him (she already had).

She nuzzled against Lulie's soft fur and took a deep breath. "Oh, Lulie," she mumbled. "Gamer boy is ruining my life."

Lulie tilted her head, letting out a confused yip.

"I know," Yumi sighed. "It doesn't make sense to me either. I don't know what to do with him. I mean, am I into helmets? I don't even know."

Lulie wagged her tail. Yumi took this as a, 'I'm into helmets, too'.

"That's good to know, Lulie," she told the dog. "But I don't think any dogs in the neighborhood own doggie helmets." She let her head fall back against the couch cushions. "God, I'm screwed."

Lulie just wanted a treat; she didn't understand why this human was talking. She didn't even know what she was talking about, but she could smell the sweet aroma of dog biscuits from the cabinet in the kitchen; the one that she couldn't reach.

Yumi glanced at the time. "Shit." Her eyes widened, and she effectively covered Lulie's ears. "Don't say that word."

She stood, bringing Lulie with her. "Your parents will be home soon. I've got to get you into your puppy bed and call it a day, huh?" She sighed into a kiss on Lulie's head. "Thanks for hanging out with me, Lu."
