Chapter 6 - A brew of strength

Upon arriving at the Potions classroom, you saw 4 big circular table that could fit up to 4 people in one table. As usual, you and trio went to one of the circular table and sat down.

"Don't get scared of Professor Snape. I got scared once as well and well let's just say I almost got expelled." Ron warned you, "It's just Professor Snape." Hermione replied in a bitter and annoyed voice. Right as Harry was saying something about Professor Snape, he entered the classroom in a dash of wind.

He walked into one last circular table that was obviously his, "Greetings to the new students who are joining us today, I don't expect you to chit-chat with you friends as you are already left behind, so you better catch up. Should I remind all of you that your O.W.L exam is in 10 months? Remember that you must get an Outstanding if you want to continue to proceed to my N.E.W.T class."

Ron silently whispering to Harry, "I would rather fail the O.W.L rather than having to be in his N.E.W.T class, I would rather chew off a mop." said Ron sarcastically and both Harry and Ron chuckled.

"And I don't expect you to get an Outstanding Weasley, and you Potter as well. Both of you even not failing the test is good enough, even Exceeding Expectations would already be too good for you two. sighs As I was saying, the O.W.Ls are very important. Now, turn your book to page 47, today we will be learning how to brew a Strengthening potion."

The four of you listened carefully to Snape's lecture, or correction, you and Hermione are. However Ron and Harry were most likely daydreaming.

"Wake up. Snape is gonna be mad at you if he caught you both." Said Hermione in a serious tone. "Oh relax he can't do anything about it, we have Dumbledore remember?" Ron replied in a gloomy and sleepy voice.

Before you could say anything further, Snape, in a glimpse of an eye, apparated behind Ron and immediately used a book to hit his head. "I have no doubts that you will fail the O.W.L exams Weasley, and I'm sure you are happy of that. 10 points from Gryffindor." Snape said in a cold and calm tone.

Across your left, another circular table filled with Malfoy, two of his pathetic minions, and a girl who gave you nasty looks, you could see Draco and his pathetic followers laughing at the sight of what just happened, you decided to ignore them as looking at them any further will make your blood boils instead.

"Sorry..." Ron uttered, seems apologetic but still no signs of wanting to pass the O.W.L exams, the three of us decided to stay quiet and do nothing about it as it happened already.

After that incident, the four of you decided to focus on brewing the Strengthening potion, as it takes a week to finish it with no guarantee of success.

"Well it looks like we are done for the day. Remember to finish up your Strengthening potion on our next meeting." And Snape finished his sentence indicating that we can leave the Potions classroom.

Just when you thought everything was going well, Snape suddenly said, "Except you, Ms. <Y/S>."

Upon hearing Snape calls your name, your face became scared and nervous, the trio went off first and waited for you at the great hall. You went over to Professor Snape who was now sitting in his chair.

"Something the matter Professor?" you said in a subtle and gentle tone. Upon saying it, Snape immediately stood up and walked near you.

"I can see that you are a new student who transfered to Hogwarts as a 5th year, quite peculiar am I right? I would like to discuss to you about the importance of you taking extra classes so you will not fail your O.W.L exams. From now on, everyday at lunch, you will spend 30 minutes with me in here everyday practicing and revising everything that you are left behind of. And no buts. That is final and Professor Dumbledore has allowed me to."

You, shocked as to what just happened, your jaw dropped. Now you have to spent 30 minutes to practice with Snape everyday, great!

Annoyed, you decided to go back to the great hall and tell the trio about it.

———During Lunch break in the great hall———

"That's unfair. Everyday? Seriously? I could teach you the basic of potions in just 2 hours in a day." Hermione frantically said.

"I don't think you could argue with Snape regarding this. And like <Y/N> said, Professor Dumbledore agreed to it." Harry added to what Hermione just said, making Hermione speechless for a second.

"I know that! It's just..unfair." said Hermione.
"Don't talk about Snape, talking about Snape makes me angry. He's so annoying, he looks so tall and elegant all the time but he basically..he basically tortures students, like me. To get an Outstanding in the O.W.Ls! To enter his stupid N.E.W.T class! Who on their right mind would want that?"

While Ron was halfway through, both you and Hermione saw Snape behind him and immediately hinted to Ron to stop, Harry seeing your signals, turned around to see Snape standing right behind him, looking at him and then changing his direction of view to Ron.

After Ron was finished with his sentence, Snape immediately said "Done yet Weasley?" in a cold and deep tone.

Ron turned his back slowly with a scared face, "Y-yes Profes-sor..?" Only to see Snape hitting his head with a book again, a familiar thing that always happens now. "5 points from Gryffindor for talking during lunch."

Ron scared to answer just nodded a couple times before Snape eventually left.

"You see what I mean now?" said Ron in a stuttered voice.

All of you decided to brush it off and continue eating and after that it was time for class again.
