Chapter 15 - Midnight stroll

You hurriedly rushed to the library, racing with time.

It was 6.58 pm and you had just got out of the common room.

You had to sprint to go to the library before 7 pm, you sprinted so fast that you passed by your friends who you didn't even notice.

"<Y/N>-" You cut off Sirius by sprinting super fast.

"What ar-" You passed Lily as well.

Thankfully you arrived at the library right at 7 pm.

You saw Tom who was already seating in a table, facing his back to you.

He could sense your presence from his back and he scoffed.

"You're late one second." He said.

"One second is impossible! I arrived at 7." You replied back.

You took a seat next to him and his eyes turned to you.

"Tomorrow, I won't let you off this easy."

"Whatever. Now get on with it."

He started to open his book and he started to tutor you about potions.

It has been 2 hours of tutoring and you felt so sleepy.

"Again, what are the 17 ingredients needed for Wiggenweld potion?" He asked in a gentle voice.

You were already half sleeping, your head at the table and your arms below your head.

You felt tired.

"Can't we take a break..." You asked, in a sleepy voice.

"We have took 3 breaks, each one consisting of 15 minutes." He replied.

You gave him the silent treatment and he closed the book.

"Told you you won't even survive a day, being tutored with me." He told you while giving you could see his smirk.

"Shut up..." You replied. "Goodnight Tom.." You said.

He raised his eyebrow while seeing you trying to get off your chair, which came out a mess.

"Stop." He said.

And after that, he hold you and put your hand in his shoulder, wrapping it. He slowly walked back to the Gryffindor common room while carrying you.

"I swear you should not be doing this." You said in a gloomy voice.

"Would you rather get detention for a week for sleeping in the library? No, right." He fired back.

And after some time, you arrived at the Gryffindor common room and Tom stopped carrying you.

He kept a distance from you.

"If you like, we could take a break tomorrow." He said.

"No." You replied, you would really want to take a break but you couldn't. Not while the lives of millions are at stake. At this point, you need every way to get closer to Tom and kill him.

Suddenly, Lily came and saw you and Tom. She immediately interrupted you and Tom and put her hand on your shoulder.

"What did you do to her?" Lily asked, furious at him.

"None of your business mudblood." He scoffed.

You could see Lily's eyes, flaming with anger while you could see Tom, clenching his fists.

To avoid further trouble, you told Lily to calm down and Tom left.

"What did I tell you about not getting close with Riddle?" Lily asked, worried for your safety.

"He agreed to tutor me."

"Tutor? Please. Don't be easily fooled." Lily said.

"Whatever, I want to sleep now." You said, while you yawned.

You head up to your dormitory and you immediately fell on your bed, the comfort it gives you, you immediately fell asleep.

It was such a nice dream, until suddenly it changed.

In your dreams, you could see Dumbledore. It looks like you are back in 1995.

Dumbledore was facing his back to you, you started to walk over to him.

You were right behind him before he suddenly turned his head.

"Hello <Y/N>." He said.

"Professor."

"Where are we Professor?" You asked.

"Where are we? That's a good question. But you see, we aren't anywhere, we are just here, existing here." Dumbledore replied, at first it was a lively dream, but the atmosphere started to change.

"Because you let us down <Y/N>. You didn't kill Tom Riddle. You couldn't even lay your hands on him, you're a disgrace to Hogwarts and let alone the entire wizarding world for wreaking havoc!" Dumbledore uttered, making you surprised.

"What do you mean Professor?"

"You know exactly what I meant. Instead of killing Tom Riddle, you gave him access to our future, to 1995. Killing every wizard, witches, and muggles. Their blood are on your hand, you did this, you killed us."

"No..That's not possible..I'm still here, and you're here too." You replied.

Just suddenly, you turned your back to see Harry, Ron, and Hermione looking at you, eyes filled with rage. The words came out of their mouth just like that.

"Why did you do this to us?" Ron said.

"<Y/N>, you put the whole wizarding world in danger, you put us in danger. You killed us!" Harry added.

To worsen up your fear, you could see your best friend, Hermione, furious at you.

"I never thought of you as my best friend <Y/N>. You were just a mere puppet, a decoy. Because you let us down. We all trusted you, and you let us die. We will always haunt you, for your mistakes on purpose."

You started to cover your ears and scream but it seemed like nobody could hear your screams.

Suddenly, The trio and Dumbledore disappeared, and from amidst, you could see a dark shadow, a fog. It started to form a shape — or a body to be exact. It started to form a boy, with dark wavy hair, big emerald eyes, wearing a hooded dark black coat. The coat covered his head but from his eye's reflection, you could see it was none other than Tom Riddle. Your biggest fear had just came true.

He started to walk over closer to you, and he laughed while giving you a smirk.

"I know your plans to kill me. I know where you came from and I know what you are doing here. Did you forget I was exceptionally skilled in Legilimency? You let everyone down, but for me, you proved to be a useful tool, you gave me access to the future, now, every disgrace to the magical world will be gone — Thanks to you." He said while smirking.

After that, Tom suddenly disappeared into a thin black fog, he dissolved to the air.

You woke up from your dream in cold sweat, turns out it was just a dream..
