Serena's pov

The footsteps halted and heard the door knob twist opening the door. It closed with a loud click as the person entered the room.

From underneath the bed I saw a pair of boots. My heart pounded in my ears, scared for what could happen.

A tantalising scent filled the air and it only took a few seconds for my hungry stomach to betray me with a growl.

Shit!

The person chuckled, "You ruined your cover princess. Too bad." he kneeled down and lifted up the covers that were keeping me hidden.

Without looking I swung the metal object, hitting him in the face, making him groan loudly in pain.

Taking this as an opportunity to escape, I slid out from under, the bed and darted towards the door, only to collide with someone.

Dark brown eyes met mine, and I couldn't ignore the scar descending from his lip. His massive frame blocked my escape, my panic rising.

I took a step back, his intimidating presence overwhelming me.

"Zack, you're scaring her," a familiar voice said behind me. I glanced back, realising that he was the one who carried me last night. There was blood dripping down his nose from how hard the impact was.

Clutching the metal object against my chest like a makeshift shield, I met the one's gaze who was blocking me.

There was so much resemblance to each other. Both had curly hair, though not identical in colour - this one's hair was deep black, while the one named Sebastian's had brown hair.

The almond shape of their eyes and the arch of their eyebrows further accentuated the uncanny similarity. I was stunned, mesmerised by their beauty and attractive features.

"How dare you lay hands on an alpha!" the one blocking me he declared, turning and advancing towards me with visible fury.

Without warning his hand closed around my throat, cutting off my oxygen, and his snarl exposed sharp teeth and his eyes blazed with fury.

A guttural growl echoed through the room, a manifestation of his anger.

"You're hurting her!," Sebastian growled. Rushing forward, pulling him off and stopping him from choking me.

Zack's resistance lingered for a moment. Gasping for air, tears welled up in my eyes, overwhelmed by the tumultuous events.

He stepped back, his anger still palpable and turbulent storm in his eyes, before finally storming away.

The intensity of the moment hung in the air, leaving behind a profound sense of unease.

Hatred for my life consumed me, and the weight of it all brought forth tears. In the midst of my sobs, I questioned why this was happening, feeling as though some divine curse plagued me.

"I'm sorry. " Sebastian's soft voice reassured, his arms enveloping me in a comforting embrace, soothing the turmoil within.
