Serena's pov

There it was again, a feeling of safety when he touched me.

I accepted Sebastian's embrace, forgetting the reality that he was a werewolf, capable of ending my life at any moment if he wanted to.

In the moments I didn't care. His touch was soothing and gentle, something I'd never would've expected.

My tears flowed freely. His kindness surpassed the treatment I had received from my ex boyfriend, deepening the emotional release.

After a few minutes, the tears subsided, and Sebastian slowly pulled away. He stood up and walked towards a desk, where he retrieved a bowl of oats. "I made breakfast."

Suspicion crept into my gaze. "Is it poisoned?" I asked.

Surprised, Sebastian's eyes widened before he bursted into laughter. His genuine laugh was like a melody, immediately calming and relaxing me.

"I saved you. Why would I want to poison you the next day?" he asked, tilting his head with a reassuring smile. "I may be a werewolf, but I promise, I'm one of the good ones." he winked.

Blushing, I felt a wave of embarrassment, realising I had found kindness in the most unexpected of places.

I accepted the bowl and sat down on the bed, Sebastian stood there, watching me intently.

"My brother...hates humans." he added, I stopped eating and looked at him shocked by his suddenly directness.

Brother? So they're related, that makes sense now.

"He's not a bad person. It's just...he would do anything to protect the pack." he continued.

I nodded in understanding and he gave me a soft smile, still looking at me.

"Is there something on my face? " I asked, feeling uncomfortable since he hadn't taken his eyes off me.

"No. It's been a while since I saw a human. And you're beautiful ," he says, smirking.

I froze, my mind grappling with the unexpected compliment.

Ignoring his remark, I continued to eat the oats, attempting to focus on something other than the unexpected flattery.

Sebastian eyebrows furrowed, "I've never gotten your name."

Contemplating whether I should reveal my name to a werewolf, I hesitated.

He seemed to notice my uncertainty.

"Let's try this another way," he suggested, walking towards me.

He held out his hand. "I'm Sebastian, and you are?" he smirks.

He stood so close, that the heat radiating from his body was palpable.

Nervously, I extend my hand, feeling the warmth of his palm against mine.

"Serena." I answered softly.

"Serena," he repeats, savouring the syllables as they roll off his tongue like sweet candy.

The pace of his pronunciation adds an unexpected charm to my name, and his eyes sparkles with a hint of playful fascination.
