Emil West

Doll sat perfectly in my lap, melting against me under the blanket until we were both nearly asleep on the couch. I could feel Jax and Andres shooting looks our way, pervasive happiness sitting on the bond like a fat fluffy bird.

The omega inside me had been craving this. It had been craving Delaney for so long that I had to keep myself from squeezing her to remind myself she was with me, that she was ours.

I had my head thrown back over the back of the couch. My legs were stretched out on the ottoman, Doll's twisted in with mine, and her head tucked into my throat. I was perfuming like crazy and every once in a while, she'd nuzzle into my neck and take a breath.

I got a sick amount of pleasure from it.

I curled into her gently scent marking her cheek before half-heartedly returning my 'attention' to the nesting wars marathon that had been playing for the last hour. My eyes were closed though, perfectly content to the warm cuddle with the background noise.

I could stay like this forever.

But I couldn't, because I also had to show Doll my nest. To make sure she liked it and approved, but I knew she would because she was perfect. I'd chosen her so she was meant for us. I wouldn't accept anything else other than downright perfect.

I snuck my hand free of the warmth of our cocoon to twirl a stray curl of hers around my finger and tuck it back behind her ear.

She murmured something, a light snore in the back of her throat that she almost choked on before it sputtered into silence.

"Doll?" I teased, "Are you already falling asleep on me?"

She mumbled something unintelligible. When I asked again she just returned with a confused, "...no?" That told me she was.

I couldn't help the smile as I watched her. She didn't even open her eyes to pretend. I loved it. "I think we should get you changed, you know...in case you decide it's time to fall asleep any time soon."

"Mhmm," I don't think she knew what she was even agreeing to, but it worked out.

I hefted her up, thankful for once that I wasn't quite small enough to look like a standard omega. Bet Rosie's omega couldn't lift her up like I can. I kept the grumbling thought to myself though, reminding myself that was the breeding brain inside me, or the pair bond brain...whatever. I'm sure he was a wonderful person, but I would like him to be wonderful as far away from Delaney as possible until she wore Jax's bite and fell in love with me so that no one better could steal her away.

I dropped her feet to the floor slowly, letting her get her footing and come to while I kept our mutual blanket wrapped around us. My omega wasn't about to let it and her go at the same time, and I had to prioritize my self-control, so I was feeding into nearly everything it wanted so that we didn't give Jax an excuse to get grumbly and separate us again.

Doll was only mildly confused, but with some coaxing changed into a pair of cotton pajamas, only extricating herself from the blanket for a second before returning to its and my sweet embrace.

"Nest time," I rubbed her arms and nearly dragged her out of what would be her room, with only a parting glance to the boring neutrals.

    We'll fix that later.

I herded her like a champion sheepdog until I had her pressed against the door to my nest. Jax and Andres couldn't see us, but their presence in the bond was heavy heavy, making sure everything was good and we were safe.
