Later that evening...

Kara and Alex found themselves sitting at the bar at Al's Dive. Kara had suggested they get strong drinks over staying in and eating pizza. She needed distraction and sisterly companionship to keep from spiraling about Lena.

"Great idea suggesting drinks. Today was tough-worrying about my sister fighting the battle of her life, on her own, in another dimension. I wanted so badly to help you. But Brainy said I'd lower your odds of winning, so I just had to sit on my hands and hope."

"I was scared too, but I had Lena-88 there to help."

"I'm glad. Sounds like you two made your own dream team over there. Actually, if Wonder Woman also so happened to show up, then that would have been the dream team, you know, minus me.

"Wonder Woman? In my dreams! If I met her, I'd probably simply cease to exist," Kara swooned.

"I know. I distinctly remember your six-month hyper-fixation on the Amazons of Themyscira. And then there was the time you actually tried to run away to Themyscira."

"It was lonely on Earth at first. Did you know I circled the entire globe looking for it? To no avail."

"I'm glad."

"Hey, the Amazons are cool!"

"You're right, I'll give you that."

They clinked glasses.

"Anyway, how's Lena? She's been doing that thing again where she disappears into her work. You're the only one of her friends whose she's made time for in weeks."

Kara's feelings came flooding back at the mention of Lena. She chugged her beer and slumped down, placing her forehead onto the sticky bar.

"Ew, Kara, you don't know where that bar's been. I mean, you don't know what's been on that bar."

Kara groaned. "What am I going to do?"

"About what?"

"What if she doesn't love me?"

"If who doesn't?" Alex didn't recall any new love in Kara's life, except for William, and that was tepid at best. Had she also heard her sister say she? She couldn't be sure because Kara's voice was muffled from having her head down.

Kara lifted her head long enough to say "Lena" before plopping it back down.

"Sweetie, we've been through this. Of course, Lena loves you. You two have been through a lot, but she's proven many times that she cares deeply about your friendship."

"No, I mean, what if she doesn't love me?"

Though Alex was still confused by the situation, the most crucial detail finally clicked. "OH. When did this happen? When did you start pining for Lena Luthor?"

"I realized I have feelings for our Lena when I was on Earth-88 and saw that Lena and Supergirl there are married. So, when I got back home to our Earth, I rushed over to L-Corp and told Lena how I felt. And now I'm regretting it. Big time."

"Sheesh, a lot has happened in the last twelve hours." Alex put her arm around her sister in her typical nurturing way, continued: "I know this must be hard for you. But you did the right thing by telling her how you feel and then giving her space."

"Thanks, Alex. It is hard, and I'm so impatient to know how she feels."

"I have a feeling you're going to be pleasantly surprised. Sitting here, listening to you-it all makes sense now. The way you two look at each other. The way you stop at nothing to help each other-"
