Chapter 17- birthday

TWO WEEKS LATER, COLLEGE -

Arpita was went for the principal for college fest. Taking this opportunity, Sayantani, Ishaan, Siddharth started planning for Arpita's birthday next week. After some time, Aditya also came running to their class.

"Sorry guys! Der ho geya" Aditya said with a sigh
"To muh kya dekh raha hain be, jaldi aa" Siddharth said and Aditya joined them.

After about 10 minutes Arpita returned to the class from the principal's office. She saw that all four of them were sitting and talking about something.
"Kya kar rahe ho?" She asked.
"Nothing, principal ne kya kaha?"

"He said that he already tried to approach 'The Night Shades' for concern but they refused. So, maybe he's gonna ask the junior or seniors later. And maybe, you guys had to sing too." Arpita said.
"Why? Accha chal koi nhi, hum to wase bhi unka concert attend karne wale hi hain" Sayantani said.

Since the last two weeks, Sayantani, Siddharth, Ishaan and Aditya have become very busy. All four of them together would often go out somewhere, leaving Arpita behind. And whenever Arpita asked something, he would ignore her or divert the topic.
Arpita did not ask much and due to taking the responsibility of college fest, she also became a little busy. Like this, two weeks passed and Arpita's birthday was ahead.

Sayantani is always the most excited for Arpita's birthday. Right from the beginning, her family used to celebrate Arpita's birthday on the wrong day because they did not know her birth date.

Sayantani was the first one who used to wish her on her birthday. And it was because of Sayantani that her family started celebrating her birthday on her birthday. That's why Sayantani's first wish for Arpita on her birthday was her good luck.

This year Sayantani did not show any interest for his birthday. Even Arpita did not remind him because she seemed really busy for this semester.
just like that, her birthday begins.

ARPITA'S POV-

it's six thirty o'clock in the morning and today is..... My birthday.
I again checked the date on my phone, no... the date is showing correctly.

No, It's not that I didn't remember, But this year my birthday started in a different way. Till high school, on my birthday, at 12 o'clock in the night, there would be lots of massages and phone calls would start coming.

No, not many friends, only one Sayantani used to do all this. And since last year those three.

But this time there is not a single text or call on my phone, I don't believe this, I tried to put the phone in airplane mode 2 or 3 times and then restarted it again and again but nothing changed.

"So they really forgot" I said on my own and smiled a little.
"Maybe they are busy. There is so much pressure of the semester this year, that is why perhaps they forgot". I thought and got up from bed.

And my family may also be busy or may have forgotten. It's ok, Those people don't really remember it anyway.

I freshened up and cleaned the house, took a bath and made some coffee. By the time all this was done it was about 8 o'clock.
I took a sip of my coffee and wished happy birthday to me.

After some time Sayantani woke up from sleep.
"Tu itni jaldi kyun uthi?" She said while frowning.
"Baas yun hi!" I smiled and said.
She didn't talk much and went back to her room with a cup of coffee.

Around 2 pm, Siddharth came. As soon as he came inside he said to me, " Apuu! I really forgot"
Hearing him a smile appears in my face and a shine on my eyes. "Hehehee, now he remembers", my mind said to me.
"what did you forget?" I asked.
